from personal experience, no -- I've gone back to where I was about two years ago, when the fact that my mother was dying really hit home. looking at the period between now and then, I can tell you now that I was tired, couldn't think straight, slept ALL the time and trying my best to not show my grieving. all of which made me even more tired .... The worst part was that I was so helpless to even recognize, much less vocalize what was going on inside.

however, my case is much, much different than someone who is taking anti-depressants for different reasons. A blanket statement would be that ideally, the meds bring your "brain fluid levels" to where they need to be, sort of like keeping an eye on what's going on underneath the hood of a car. the oil and transmission fluid, even the washer fluid, need to be at certain levels to do what they're meant to do.

a long, long time ago, Moimeme posted a link that described how the underage or overage of certain hormones or brain juices can affect one's body, and it was excellent at breaking those symptoms down. Made the use of meds like anti-depressants finally make sense to me. I'll go search the archives and post it shortly.
