ever get the feeling discovery is near

Recommended Posts

I always heard it's not if you get caught, it's when.

I see this on my LinkedIn page, and it gave me the creeps (recently viewed):

Manager at Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin, Inc.

Yesterday

That person my friend whom I've been seeing lives with is from that region.

Someone in University of California, Los Angeles in the Hospital & Health Care industry

Yesterday

That's the industry she works in. (I need to be prepared, just in case; that's why I know these two things about that person. I have since immediately removed my office information from LinkedIn!)

If you click on it it should give you a list of people in that industry and you can narrow it down.

But, yeah, my guess is someone is looking for information.

Be prepared.

Since your R has started you've been worrying about dday.

It seems like sooner or later it will happen.

In my own case, to be honest, it was never a huge concern and no dday ever did occur. However, in your case, you have made several references to ddays so trust your gut, probably means that it might be on the horizon for you.

Yes I've had this before. It scared the bejeezus out of me.

One heads up - LinkedIn software can do some sneaky things. I have seen it link me to ex wife of a guy I previously dated as "someone you might know" although there was no reason to do so. Realized the algorithm can pull things from who you look at, where you work, and your address book on your PC to make connections. It's creepy. So you might show up on BS's page if you are connected to your MM.

That's more likely to happen on Facebook.

You'd be surprised. LI has some of the same technology in how they make suggestions for new contacts

How is your partner with covering their tracks? Do they use their cell phone to contact you? Personal email? I think those things are important. Using different email and cell phones are key.

And don't bill the other phone to your home account. Knew someone who did this...

Yes.

Personal email?

Rarely. And I noticed this: he tends to return my emails with a call. So I keep emails strictly business. There's only one computer in their apartment.

Yes I just got back on there this year and was shocked at how big it's gotten & seemingly more sophisticated! It right away listed a suggestion of a guy I knew fairly well from elementary thru high school and it really shocked me. I do not have his email address of phone # in my contacts, there's no mention of school before college on either of our profiles (and we went to different colleges), no hometowns, we live on different coasts, totally different fields, degrees, companies, professional groups etc We don't even have ANY people connections in our network. How did it know?!??

Luckily my xMM and W are not even on LI because that's definitely not the place to go if you want to lurk anonymously!

LOL! Seriously. Hahahaha.

My friend doesn't use it. LinkedIn suggested some profile that suggested it's him, but I think they just got that from combing my address book and in turn hoping to enable to suggest to him that he join LinkedIn.

But my true love is my contact on LinkedIn (twice) and he knows the person I suspect failed at an anonymous lurk(s). I've never combed his contacts to see if she's there.

I'm over it. Documented and thusly moving on...

One day I discovered my ex mm's ADULT SON had viewed my profile on linkedin. I don't know him, never met him (except one day he saw me and his dad together at the beach) and can only assume he was lurking for a reason.

Also, eMM's adult daughter told him "Mom thinks you have a girlfriend".

Now there are lots of anonymous checks on linkedin.

Solo, why don't you post for an update? Have wondered how you are and planned to track down one of your threads to post on to inquire.

Creepy! Gotta watch out for the kids. From what I understand, my friend also lives with this ladies' two grown kids (male & female). Sounds like they're kinda bad/lacking ambition. Apparently the female kid resents my friend for rejecting her mom the first time around decades ago. smh

Thanks! I clicked on the first category. It narrowed it down to 7,000. Perhaps I'll scroll through.
