Getting back together?

Recommended Posts

Well, we both talked on Tuesday after the little incident of maybe spending a month apart. We went out to eat and talked about everything. She admitted that she thought about getting back togethe and still thinks about me everyday. She said that she didn't tell me these things a week or so ago is because she didn't want to give me false hope. She told me and then she said that she is weak for telling me. I don't know what it is with that girl.

Anyway, I invited her to dinner and a movie this Friday. She told me that she already thought about that. She said that maybe we could start out reaaaaaalllllyy slow again. She said that she had to think about it, so I gave her a humorous little email about saying that she was picked out of hundreds of girls to spend a night with me. Her and her roomates really got a kick out of it and they even went as far as bringing a note over to my apt to let me know that she has accepted.

This night has to be really nice. I guess the dinner and a movie thing is the only thing that I can think of. I know I am not going to be all romantic because I am not going to scare her. It is just going to be a fun night for us both. Any other suggestions?

You need to be casual. The less you do the better. The less romantic you are, the better. This is a girl who just two weeks ago called you to be sure you didn't come to the art show because she didn't want you there.

You need to show yourself as someone who is worth having. If you go overboard now and show yourself as desperate, you will surely turn her off again.

Just go out, have a meal at a moderately priced restaurant, NOT a fancy place, or just get a burger, fries and coke...and then go see a movie. Don't bring her flowers, don't bring her a gift...that is NOT appropriate in the context of your current situation and would certainly not be consistent with her wishes to GO SLOW!!!

Keep us posted. I hope you can pull this off!!! Great love stories are always nice to read about.

Yeah, I am not going to go all out. I thought about it but I have remembered all of the advice that you have put in the back of my head and decided not to. See, some of it sunk in. :)

I will let you know how it goes. I hope it is good news!

I don't know the dynamics of why your getting back together sloooooowly, but I'am very happy for you, what a lucky guy, you get a second chance.Just don't be too needy and sound too desprate. However ,it sounds like you know how to play the game to get want you want back into your life.

Yeah, kinda agree with Sparkle. This doesn't sound like such a good idea to me either.

However, since you're already there, there's no turning back now.Whatever you do, DO NOT make any attempts to bring up your relationship. DO NOT even think of the word "relationship".If you have a dictionary at home, rip out the "R" section, so you don't accidently see the "relationship" when you're hunting in there for the meaning of another word.

Even if she tries to bring up the subject herself, tell her you don't want to talk about it.Even if she begs, and pleads to talk about a relationship, say you don't want to hear that word. Even if she pulls out a harpoon and aims it at your chest, saying "Talk relationship or die, scumbag!", do not even think of the word relationship.Just let her shoot you with the harpoon --it's more diginified that way.

What do you talk about? The weather and the Superbowl.

LOL, I know what you guys are thinking. Unfortunately, my bet is that the relationship will come up. I am not going to be the one to bring it up, but if she does then I will talk about it. You never know, if she brings it up and wants to talk about it then maybe she wants to try this again. We will see how things go. I will let you guys know what goes on.
