How many of you are in a long distance A?

For consistency we can define long-distance (LD) as living more than an hours drive away from each other. Basically if distance is part of the reason why you can't see each other more then you are in a LD affair. I get the feeling that many posters here are.

I am more than an hour away. Id rather not say how far. How about it usually costs me around $80 in gas expense to see him?

I am in a SDA... short distance affair.

 

However I have OFTEN wished it was long distance.

 

Would make life a LOT simpler.

Yes by that definition I am in a LDA. Honestly even though the distance makes spontaneous meetings almost impossible it also helps in keeping things normal. Neither of us has the fear of bumping into the other with our spouse at say the gas station. Also by meeting half way there is LESS OF A RISK of someone seeing us, mind you the risk is still there but lessened.

 

But this question did make me think as I never considered it LD but I guess it truly is. Hmmm interesting thought that actually helps me look at things a bit differently.

10 hours apart (by plane), different continents. Yup

My EA was 5 hours by plane. The distance was a gigantic issue for him, but I needed the distance. Had there been no geographical barrier, the EA would have gone PA all too quickly and the dday fallout would have been 10,000 times worse than it was. Not to mention how much harder it is to stay NC when distance doesn't play in my favor for healing.
