kaylan
There used to be a time when being lesbian or bi was as stigmatized as it is for dudes being gay. I have no problems with LGBT folks, and have close friends and family members who are a part of the community. (the whole lesbian/gay societal double standard is a big topic too) But dang, I want to date a straight woman and there seems to be a shortage. Its just a preference, same way most women want a straight man. The whole bi thing isn't really a turn on for me. I want a woman who loves men and only men. Plus its nice knowing I can provide them with everything they desire sexually. But jeez its seems harder and harder lately to find straight chicks who aren't even bi curious or never kissed a girl. Maybe its the chicks I attract or that Im attracted to...but really...I dunno. As soon as I hear a girl is into chicks, it just turns me off the idea of dating them exclusively. I mean it just seems more feminine and attractive to me that a woman only like a man. I have thought about this shift in sexuality though. Part of it I feel is that people can now be more open about their true sexuality in modern time. And I also think the sexualization of women in the media has caused women to grow up being able to find other women attractive. Back in the day youd see men getting some sexual treatment in the media...like a particular soda commercial with women gawking over a male construction worker on break. But times have changed. Older relatives I know have even said they've noticed the change in media and how young women behave nowadays. Oh wells...gotta keep on truckin. I for one though wish bisexual women would stop saying they are straight on their profiles. I know chicks would be thrown off if they found out a guy there were interested was bi after they had been chatting a bit. PS - Its funny how many bi chicks use women for sex, but then wanna settle down with men. Its not much different from how plenty of guys use chicks for sex. I always thought that was a humorous factoid. Edited January 6, 2014 by kaylan

MrCastle
It does seem like a lot more women blur the lines nowadays but I'm not complaining. I'm trying to get a threesome going before it's all said and done and it makes it easier for that to happen if more women are open to the idea of playing both sides.
Phoe
I'm completely straight, never experimented with women, don't want to. BUT... there are women who I find attractive. I had an assistant professor in an archaeology class who just really struck me. She was so adorable, her personality intrigued me, I found myself sitting at the front of the class, finding reasons to ask questions after class, a strange sort of... crush? It was like I had a bit of a girlcrush on her. But I didn't want to date her, I didn't want to have sex with her. I just felt this desire to be around her, as a person she drew me in so ridiculously. I can't even explain it. But dating, sex, romance? Men only, thanks

That's all well and fun when single. That kinda stuff aint so fun when it comes to more serious dating. I mean personally, Im even over all that when it comes to casual dating. Been there, don't that. My teen years were fun, and so was college, but the threesome stuff is overrated. Not even in my top ten sexual experiences.
MrNate 2.0
Yeah you bi's and les's need to stop hitting on/converting our straight women. Youre already a woman so you know what it takes to bag em nice and quick. That playing field ain't even, man.

Wild, no strings attached sex for the foreseeable future. I mean if a girl walked into my life to change my views then so be it, but I'm not out here looking for that girl. I'm just doing my thing. A threesome is about the only fantasy I absolutely want to make a reality at some point.
regine_phalange
Is that so? I know only one girl who is a bisexual, but again, I don't live in the US. I find the idea of touching another woman icky, to say the least. But women who like it, good for them. More choices and less chances to be forever alone.

It definitely seems to happen A LOT more in the USA than in South America, Asia, or Europe. When I was in college, the international students in my major (and I met a lot since my major was international business), definitely said it didn't happen often in their countries. Says a lot about how nature and nurture can have some influence on sexual tendencies and attitudes. I mean look at Japan. Most guys are straight, but then have no issues with the feminine roleplaying they sometimes do in bands and cosplaying. Hell, Ive even heard Japanese women say they felt American men were too masculine for their tastes. Everyone likes something different.

You look at some people like George Clooney, Leonardo Dicaprio, Derek Jeter -- lifelong bachelors. No intentions of settling down and/or having kids. You may say "well they have way more options than you do." -- but then you see people like Brad Pitt becoming family men. It's a fundamental difference. I have no interest in settling down and/or starting a family. I've made peace with the fact that I may be a lifelong bachelor.

The thing is that's not how being bisexual works. We don't want both *i_k and #u_ay at the same time. We like sex with both men and women and any one partner can give is everything we need 100% of the time. If I am in a relationship then that person gives me everything I need. But jeez its seems harder and harder lately to find straight chicks who aren't even bi curious or never kissed a girl. Maybe its the chicks I attract or that Im attracted to...but really...I dunno. Back in the day youd see men getting some sexual treatment in the media...like a particular soda commercial with women gawking over a male construction worker on break. . It comes down to two myths about bisexuality. 1.) All women are bisexual. 2.)Men are either gay or straight and never really bi. So a woman who can have a sexual history which if the genders were all reversed would make the bi or even gay... and ID as straight. They think all straight women are like them. OR Sometimes they will ID as lesbian when they are really more bi in practice. Meanwhile a man will often be ID'd as gay because his hand once brushed past another mans backside on a crowded subway and it didn't feel awful. But times have changed. Older relatives I know have even said they've noticed the change in media and how young women behave nowadays. Oh wells...gotta keep on truckin. I always thought that was a humorous factoid. In my OLD profiles I state up front I am BI and I don't obey standard gender norms. I look for women who say similar things about themselves. I can see why many people just lie about it. Consider all the stereotypes.
Biscous
The only thing that annoys me is when women kiss other women for the hell of it. It is just a form of attention whoring and I find it annoying.
Author kaylan
You know as a fellow black person... that feeling when a white person says "I have a lot of black friends but..." You just know what's coming. Not even the same dude. My brother...my flesh and blood...dates a mtf transexual woman. And during my youth my good friends were a bisexual and a lesbian chick. Could you not understand why a straight guy would want a women whos attraction is solely for men? I won't argue with your preference. The thing is that's not how being bisexual works. We don't want both *i_k and #u_ay at the same time. We like sex with both men and women and any one partner can give is everything we need 100% of the time. Consider all the stereotypes. One must realize that many bi woman have helped turn off a lot of men and lesbians to dating them seriously. I've seen almost every lesbian I know be hurt badly dating bi women...so im not unbiased when you consider who my friends were growing up. I just rather not personally risk it. Plus as I said, I do find straight women more attractive and feminine. Its just my own gut feeling. I know gender binary is a learned societal thing amongst us cisgender folk...but I can't help but find a woman who solely likes diick more attractive than a women who likes more than just penis.
Fondue
My girlfriend recently told me that she had a single encounter with another female and didn't like it. Never plans to do it again. I don't know why she chose to tell me this, but whatever. Maybe she thought it I would find it "hot," but I definitely didn't. She even gave me a few "details" of what transpired. Kind of turned me off, actually.
Author kaylan
I wanted to add that when my bro came out to the family that I was the one who had his back thru and thru....esp when it came time to tell our dad. Just because I accept and support the lgbt community, does not mean I cannot prefer straight women. The opening to my op merely made the observation that male and female sexuality receives different treatment in our society. And a big part of that its because straight dudes control most things...if not everything. Edited January 7, 2014 by kaylan
samsungxoxo
I don't know where are you meeting those women. My level of curiosity towards being intimate with a woman is the same as a man would be towards sucking another man's cock. My attraction towards a man is the same way as a man towards a woman; always have been. Editbee
I have no idea but I've bumped into several men who were either trying to persuade a woman to be in an FFM threesome or wanted to watch a woman to have sex with another woman (what the heck I'm I going to do with another woman???). Same as you, I'm wondering where are the normal man who are only interested in being in a 1 woman-1 man only, nothing else. No threesomes, no lesbian persuadings, none of that. I don't like women. I think we're living in a corrupted world to be honest and it seems that porn deviations are the trends nowadays.
Disillusioned
It's been my experience that here in Los Angeles, at least, a lot more straight men than women want to meet someone. Straight women in this town are too preoccupied with building their own personal empires and getting POWER. It's the perfect mix for someone to come along and offer female lovebots. I don't know how things are working in the LGBTQ scene... that lifestyle is a totally different planet to me.

I was not looking for it, nor was I really into it. I do much prefer just to focus all that good sexual energy on one woman. I will agree that porn has skewed things a bit in American society. Dunno if Id call it corrupted though. People like different things is all I can say
