littlemissc2014
Hi everyone was wondering if someone could help me. I have started insanity today at around 200lbs (91kgs) and I was doing well, well better than I thought I would anyway I had to stop half way through as I got pain in what seems to be dead center under my foot in my arch. Someone has suggested it may be because I don't have running trainers I have sports trainers only used for working out however there is no way I'll be able to complete this with this pain. It seems to have gone now I'm done and my shoes are off. Thanks in advance.
dichotomy
Good shoes are must. This is a new routine for you and can result in stress. I have occasional foot pain. I like a frozen bottle of water rolled back and forth on my arch..... .....and also this thing to work out the pain in my foot.. Eau Claire
As an RN I can say it could be many things but a major cause of pain in the arch is 'shoes are too tight'. If this damaged a nerve then can take a month or so to get better. Hopefully just temporary for a day or two...but don't aggravate it. Try removing your socks and loosening the laces if you can't afford new sneakers.
Author littlemissc2014
I had my mum look at my feet lastnight and it seems I have a high arch - my trainers I purchased for working out however I am a women and bought them because they were bright! I ordered some new ones more suitable to my foot type lastnight so I am hoping that will do the trick. I have no pain at all when not working out and I don't think my trainers are too tight. Hopefully it's something that'll be resolved. Thanks x
Els
Yup, you definitely need trainers that fit your foot well and that are suitable for what you are doing (running vs sports vs hiking etc). Hope your new shoes work better!

GoreSP
I had similar pain last year and I was told I had plantar fasciitis. Edit: I kept a bottle of water frozen and rolled it under the plant of my foot whenever it was sore and after work outs.
Mr Scorpio
As others have mentioned, performing self-massage on your feet can help substantially. I was experiencing knee-pain from running for months. My PT didn't really start helping until I took to performing self-message on my foot with a racquetball. Good stuff. Vast improvement. Softie
It's poss Plantia Fascia. You can get orthotics or gel insets to support your arches. Had similar thing last year. Also rolling a golf ball or tennis ball under your foot as a massage is good I was advised.
Eggplant
Golf balls might feel really good. Get a foot massage. Get arch support.
