melell Posted January 29, 2014 Share Posted January 29, 2014 So often I am reading posts on here where it is as if the poster has no self respect at all (usually in the dating/bu/second chances boards) I am single, and not looking, so this isn't something I am having to deal with.. but in future. I really don't want to be someone who loses myself in romance, or who loses confidence (when something goes wrong) because of another individual. Lately I have been wondering how to avoid it. All of my friends and family etc have what to me is an unreasonable amount of jealousy, or too much invested in the actions of their significant others. I was with someone for 7 years, I definitely kept a whole lot of self respect, but their were certain times I let things slide that I am not proud of. How can this be avoided? or does it just come with relationships regardless? - I am starting to get the mentality that relationships are a waste of energy. Link to post Share on other sites
