greyskies
hey everyone long time no see. Well out with the old and in with the new. The old being my ex and the new being a friend of mine whom I just think the world of. He is a US marine very gorgeous and very wise and respectable. All the things I look for in a man. Here is my problem. He was dating a chick whom is the sister of an acquaintance of mine. Well when I met him he was really going through it over this chick and she put him through so much. Basically used him to the point he even lost his job. Well he was coming by often and we became good friends and he decided to move to Germany for a little while to get away from the drama of the break-up. Most of the time he was gone him and I chatted and talked about everything under the sun. Flirted and mad little innuendos here and there. But I could feel he was having a hard time getting over his ex so I just tried to keep him smiling and stuff like that. He would talk about her the entire time we would chat almost and I just listened as best as I could gave him what I think was sound advise. Recently I had told him you know what your all mad at this guy she's with now and I would assume he is just going through the same thing you are she's telling him one thing and you another. He really has nothing to do with the fact that this girl is playing the both of you for fools. So he called this guy and they met and con=fronted this girl on her BS. And she chose the other guy over my friend. He was a real man about his and walked away. Well needless to say I truly like this guy but he says hes not ready yet. So Im being patient. Is it good for friends to become lovers? Has anyone ever done this before and if so if you broke up were you still friends. Or did it ruin the friendship all together? Thank you for your help. Merin
Honestly.. It doesn't seem to me based on what you've said that this guy has an interest in becoming more than friends.. I'm sorry. While honestly he really may not be ready to get into anything with anyone right now.. IMO IF he had ever considered something more with you, he would have found another "Sympathetic Ear" regarding his broken heart over this other girl.. Just my 2 cents... SuperFantastico
I'd say give him time. From what you've told me, she mind****ed him real good. Let the poor guy mend for a few months. He will remember your kindness and appreciate your friendship. Nows not the time for anything else though. Friends with benifits isnt an option unless you want to become a rebound.
