Only about 3 months to go now...

Recommended Posts

Until we get married! As many of you know, it's been a rocky road to the altar, but we are excited, happy, and yep- scared and nervous too- we know marriage won't be a picnic. We've come through a lot, and it's taken a lot of trust and faith on both our parts to believe fully in 'us' again. But that's just what we are doing. The best is yet to come, and the worst is behind us. I believe that. :D I can't wait to embrace all the adventures, happiness and challenges ahead.

We are writing our own vows, and having a unity candle ceremony, which I am also writing.

Next month my dress will be finished being made, and I get to pick it up...yahooo...cant wait to try it on! Will have to hide it from my fiance though. :bunny:

And then, in April, it's off to Fiji for the wedding...and 3 weeks away.

Yes it is! But it's also tiring! I think when I got down to the one month mark, I didn't want to think about ANY wedding stuff anymore. My MOH had to make me to-do lists for what needed to be done. Good thing she did, because it made everything run so smoothly on the day of the wedding...all I had to worry about was looking good and having fun because it was all planned out in advance.

That's how I hope it will be for me! Some things we wont be able to decide on until we get to Fiji (exact reception location etc)...but we have four nights beforehand to sort out that stuff...and just relax on the island with our family and friends. Cant wait. I am also already allocating little tasks for the day to family and friends, so I wont have to worry about them (we are taking over our own placecards etc.)

I am told the actual wedding day tends to go past in a bit of a blur...I am going to try and make sure I savour some moments to remember

Just make sure to get a ton of pics! I also tried to savor the day, but it was still a blur! Plus the memories fade so quickly once you're back to your regular life. With the pictures, you get to notice the little things you didn't notice at the time, like what your guests were doing, etc. My photographer got over 2000 pictures, he's my uncle, so he gave them all to us. And various relatives took more with personal cameras. What's fun is seeing the same shot from two different angles. We're still waiting to get the professional video back from the videographer, but my sister's BF and my brother got some footage with their cameras too. We wanted to be sure we remembered the day...it was honestly the best day of our lives! I'll bet yours will be just as nice, especially since you're making sure to plan ahead and delegate. :)

Thanks for that. When was your wedding? sounds like it was great!

We are having someone do a video, and getting a professional photographer to come over to Fiji from Sydney! He offered us a good package ...we are covering his airfare (pretty cheap from australia) and he is going to bunk in with a guest, so it all worked out ok...and we know we'll have good pics, even being in Fiji. :D

You're going to have so much fun!! Are you honeymooning in Fiji too? We got married in October and my family is still talking about how great it was! Of course, I'm also the first one of my generation to get married, so they don't have any one else's to talk about yet. :)

Never had a wedding cause I'm too young, but Congrats! I have heard that weddings were mayhem, but you seem to have everything under control. ^_^. I hope your dress will look nice, and hope that you'll have a fantastic wedding.

I hope everything continues going well for you.

Both of you are putting alot of effort into your wedding and I'm sure it will be a wonderful day for you both.

I think about you often.

Reading the posts of your problems are like reading about my own situation. Almost identical, except we aren't getting married. The ideas from you and other members of LS on solving these problems helps me so much.

Have a great wedding!!!

Maria

Thanks Maria and Chrono!

Maria- I hope things are going well in your relationship.

We are excited and happy with the marriage coming along so soon now.

Of course, we are still also experiencing our ups and downs...some of the issues we are working through, and issues I personally am working through won't go away overnight. But progress is being made, and things have been improving, as we both continue to grow and learn.

Congrats and all the best! The Fiancee and I are at the 2 month mark and the stress is crazy sometimes. WE did pretty much all the planning ourselves as well as the financing (ouch). Add to this that my mom is ill at the same time and it's like a Hippo on the shoulders soimetimes. But it's all working out.

Well, I have just picked up my dress ( I had it made to measure) and I am thrilled with it...I felt so beautiful wearing it I didnt want to take it off!

It's a 30s vintage style gown...quite sleek, with a low v back and cowl neckline, some beading on a band around the waist, and short train...made in italian silk...I have a sparkly clip with a feather attached for one side of my hair, to complete the 30s look, and an elegant shawl to drape over my arms (no veil)...VERY excited now...

anyway...just wanted to share!

OMG, that sounds really beautiful: the dress, the islands, the wedding... the company.

I really envy your for enjoying this. I'm usually a sask of nerves, thinking of everything that might go wrong, LOOL. Good for you for not doing that!

lol Curly- I worry too...heck I am the master at obsessing, as you know! But I am mainly excited over this, :bunny: and am trying to learn how to worry less, about everything...my psych is helping me with that! :)

The dress designer told me not to try the dress on again now before the wedding (just in case)- but I am going to once, for my mum and my grandma (grandma cantmake it over)...that'll be fun. :D

If it were me, something tells me I'd find each day a "very good reason" for trying it on... just in case, LOOL!
