How can i talk to my husband about the issues.

Recommended Posts

I wanted to get some male advice about this…

i want to speak to my husband about the impending divorce. He's been giving me mixed msgs and i want to talk to him about them however every time i try to approach him.. his defenses are always up and we just end up arguing. I read about couples on here "sitting down" and having a conversation about the divorce (bills, debt, lawyer, etc)… but when we talk…we just end up arguing what went wrong in the marriage.. and then eventually he shuts down and no longer listens to what i have to say.

How can i approach my husband and have a conversation with him without it turning into an argument, he-said she said, and blaming??

Thank you for your advice :)

Are mediators different from MC??

Yes; counselors tend to work long-term to repair the marriage or work towards reconciliation.

Mediators work with couples who have decided to divorce and need an intermediary to resolve issues -- usually financial or dealing with assets -- to assure fairness to both sides.

Absolutely... They are more in line with divorce lawyers, but are not supposed to "represent" either side instead trying to forge a reasonable compromise.

BlametheIrish

TMuch much cheaper than hashing things out in court. I could never get through to.my ex husband about division.of assetd, debts etc. a goid mediator helped along the process so I didn't have to discuss much with someone who would rather continue to try and destroy me emotionally instead of trying to figure things out like a reasonable adult.
