Not 23 BUT 18?!!

Recommended Posts

So I just found out that they guy I like and have been talking to is NOT 23 but in fact only 18! I mean I knew he looked young! But I had no idea he was that young!

Am I wrong for still talking to him and considering dating him? Age isn't a big issue for me but I am kinda shocked to be honest.

YOU MONSTER!!! God will pour forth his fire and judgment and the devil will poke

you in the butt with his fiery pitchfork of doom and torment.......*phew*

Just had to get that out of my system. The main problem with dating a younger

person is thier maturity level. Now that you didnt know this person was 18 and

thought that they were 23 instead is a good sign.

If you still had a great time with them, then why let a few years get in the way.

Hell lots of women date younger guys. Some 30 year olds go out with 21 year

olds. Much bigger age difference there, but both parties seem happy enough.

I say try it out. Once your family and friends get over the fact that they are younger

than you, and see your happy all will be well.......except for the looming cloud of

damnation!!!!!!!!!!!!.....er.....sorry......

18 still legal ;) heh. If you like him, and hes not super immature, then go for it.

I've met women much younger than me that are probably way more mature than

me.

I say go for it. Worst case it dosnt work out and you both move on. Better than

not trying at all.

Only problem is you cant bring him to bars yet :(

Neither of us drink and I'm not really a "bar kinda" girl so that isn't even an issue! :p

I sooooo do want to try with him, he lives 10 hours away from me but we've agreed that we do want to meet up for sure and see what happens...I mean I know it sounds crazy but I kinda hope it could work!

Well we are in the "getting to know each other" stages still, I've been talking to him for a few weeks so who knows if anything will come of it. He's offered to drive and see me...and assuming it works out he said he'd drive to see me every weekend but if it did/does work out then I'd rotate weekends with him. I would rent a car to go see him in VA on some weekends. :) But again only time will tell if it can/will happen.

barby, if you'd not have posted your age I'd have said you were 17, tops!

my theory is, if you hit it off, you hit it off. Age is irrelevent by that point ...

knock yourself out, honey

First of all, he lied about his age-who DOES that? Would you have given him a second glance if you were aware of his age? I would feel kind of stupid myself if I were 24 and I had an 18 year old boyfriend.

If you really, truly like him and think he's capable of giving you the relationship you need, then don't worry about it.

Actually I never asked him  We hit it off and talked about everything under the sun EXCEPT that, (go figure hahaha!) :D He asked me where I was from and I told him Indiana and I'm 24...what about you? (and he just told me from VA)

So technically he didn't lie to me :o .

Would you have given him a second glance if you were aware of his age?

Probably not, but now that I know him it hardly seems worth throwing away a friendship and maybe more just because of it...I mean I know it a way it sounds bad but he seems wiser and more mature than that (even more than myself)...he's so intelligent and sweet.

Robbing the cradle can be fun!!

You are a pretty lady Barby.

This will be my first time! And thanks that's very sweet of you to say. :)

Thank you so much for saying I'm a doll..hahaha! I'm flattered! ;) Yes I know MOST everybody is better than Oscar, I've had NO contact with him and Gawd this guy is soooooooooooooo much better!!

Wow I always feel that I look like an older woman (an old lady even (poor self image) thanks to dear old Oscar telling me that "we're old 24 is already very old). :( I must admit I'm flattered that you think I look younger! :) And thanks for the encouragement....we did hit it off and I know (well I'm pretty sure) I'm going to give this a chance...I just can't judge about his age (since he is legal) we just "connected" to well...

Well like i said, god bless you if you can make it work. Thats a long haul.

Goodluck

Thanks..I think it's really worth a shot!

Have fun -- dating is about fun, its not all a search for a permanent relationship. I'm thinking 18 = stamina baby! ;)

If it works into a lasting relationship - great, if it doesn't you can still have fun together. Not all breakups have to be painful -- if you both have fun and decide its not going to work for long-term, then you can part on friendly terms and enjoy the memory and learning experience. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

That really is a good pic of you! Did you go to glamour shots?

Hello, Barby

I think you're in the country where "the pursuit of happiness" is written in the Constitution. So if this makes you happy, try it.

I, on the other hand, saw my sister's attempt to go out with a guy 4 years younger than she is. She's 21, he's 16, will be 17 in March (legal age for men in Europe is 16, btw). Anyway: adventure is on the way. She had some great times, she also had some lousy times.

He was great to her, but had no idea how to act around a woman. Mind you, my sister demands lots of attention and constant adoration, but then, who doesn't. They live in the same city, saw eachother a lot ant the whole relationship lasted about... 1 intense month. They split up (her choice), but in my opinion they'll get back soon, she's too crazy over him.

Not all 18 years old are the same. Your bf is older than my sister's bf. My sister is a very high maintainance girlfriend in terms of attention. I told you all this in order to be prepared. Girls have some expectations regarding their dates. I'm 24 also and I know I do...

Keep an open mind. My sister told me they are fiesty, those young devils :p !

No thanks for asking I actually snapped a couple of pics with my sister's webcam...I didn't have on make-up or anything, it was all natural :) Thanks for the compliment though!

So is he an online meet?

Yeap. We talk on the phone, chat face to face (on webcam), ect. I don't know what's happening to me, I have NEVER met anyone from online and the guy i talked to before this, well I just didn't "feel him" and now I'm "smitten" by this guy....I mean I probably sound immature and stupid but I have real hope (finally) that possibly something good could come of this, even if it's just a really good friend...or a relationship (which I know probably nothing lasts forever).. But I'm smitten none the less! :)

He is actually 10 hours away :( I'm in Indiana and he's in Virginia BUT he is willing to drive up here and see me and I'm willing to drive to see him as well. He's such a sweety! I'm talking to him now :love::love: Luckily he doesn't know about this place or else he'd know what I really thought of him...I don't let on to my feelings easily to him. :)

You go for it girl. He is legal and you like him, to me that's all that matters!!!!!!

Thanks girl! I am going for it, slowly but surely!
