Speak for yourself.

I see how my 5'9, body better than Adonis, gets women fawning and drooling over him. Hes average height and does just fine. Seems to get loads of primal lust and panties wet for him.

Wow never expected so much passionate discussion about "size" preference that was not about a guys penis ...or maybe a gals weight.

While OP seems not to think so in her case - I might say I was influenced by my first love (GF) body type - she was curvy - specifically had a rather noticeable waist to hip ratio. She was also short ( a foot less than me) - but I guess I just associated a nice set of hips with a wonderful passionate woman and this left an imprint! Ah well.... its just a preference.

Of course they can!

Height is not what gets me all lusty and primal. Manly and strong and protective do. It's really more attitude than physique, for me anyway. A big body and a wimpy (or apathetic) attitude leave me dry. A body of any healthy size combined with the mind, physical and mental strength, and expressed motivation to protect me: swoon :bunny:

Lets stop the bullsh!!t here.

These threads and posts come up all the time...calling attention to the reality that short men are not top picks for women. And most of the time it isnt short dudes creating these threads. Why the hell can they not voice their displeasure when this is constantly thrown in their face here and in real life?

Jesus Christ with this lame ass shaming I see in this thread. You people dont do the same damn thing when men bring up a chicks weight. I dont see women being shamed for "letting it bother them".

So lettuce beef real tea right now. (so lets be real here)

Im a 5'9 whos just fine with his height. And guess what? The ONLY ever time I even thought my height was an issue was when I allowed my ex (prior to us dating) to make me that I was short. And the chick was 5'2 herself lol.

The thing is that I generally see men tip toe around womens weight, and I see people be more patient and tactful about that issue. But I definitely do not see the same courtesy with regards to the male height issue.

Again, it's like the short guy bus seems to think being short is like a impossible obstacle to overcome and tall guys can get any women they want just because they are tall. It's a bunch of garbage, it's an excuse for short guys who don't want to take a look at themselves and realize there is other reasons why they can't get a women. There is plenty of tall guys with issues getting women to, but you don't hear them whining like the short guys.

I guess whining about something you can't change is easier then realizing there is things you could change about yourself. I don't blame women one bit for not wanting anything to do with bitter short guys. Funny though, there is plenty of guys not complaining about their height who aren't limited dating wise by it, whodathunk?

I understand where you're coming from, and actually -- I agree with you.

But at the same time, you're tall. You've always been tall, and you're always going to be tall. You're never gonna be short. You don't know what the experience is.

If you were struggling in dating and everywhere you turned online was a woman saying men over 5'9 were weird and freakish looking and they preferred to date someone around their height, I'm sure you would get annoyed, and at some level, it would screw with your head. Not that you would be completely and totally insecure about it every waking moment, but any time the conversation came up, you would have something to say.

It's like women, and tall men, want to downtalk short men, talk about how they are not as attractive, not as masculine, etc etc, and also want to call them insecure, as well as roll their eyes when short men speak up for themselves.

It's like they want the short man to just accept the negative comments, never let it get to them, never let it get to them. If they speak up it's "ugh, see, another insecure short guy whining about his height. This is why I don't date them."

It's ok if you only like tall men, OP. Don't change a thing.

leaves more of the 'fun-size' guys for me :)

And yet my friend's brother has been called " fun-size Phil " for many years.

It comes across as condescending.

I have never called him that because i know he hates it.

And he is shorter than 5'4-5'5.

But then he has been ribbed about his height all his life.

A form of bullying but because it is only someone's height that is made fun of, it is socially accepted.

I find it funny how alot of women cry about men being shallow and how they want to be loved for who they are on the inside yet alot arent willing to do the same for men becasue of some ideal they have and what kind of men they were promised as a child reading fairy tales.

I get people have types and youre not attracted to everyone i just find it weird that a guy who has a face and body you could be attracted to but is under a certain height by an inch or two under your line of whats accpetable he is now unattractive to you its bizarre to me that if he was an inch or two more off the ground hed suddenly be hot

That's because it's always a double standard when applying things to women. When guys want a specific woman it's called being shallow… When women want a specific man it gets labeled as "her type".

LOL… I love to see people spew on here with nothing except their emotions to back it up.

Tall males have almost everything handed to them. And as much as you want to disagree or wine or cry against it… You are 110% wrong. It is a proven scientific and so sociological fact. Taller men get more raises, taller men get more promotions, taller man get respected more even if they don't know what they're talking about, taller men are seen as more attractive to women just for the fact of being tall. There are so many articles and studies on it it's not even funny.

Dan Ariely, a professor of psychology and behavioral economics, did a study about online dating. He found that a guy around his height which is 5' 9 would have to make $20-$30,000 more a year to be just as attractive in the eyes of the avg woman, as a guy 2 to 3 inches taller with similar qualities.

Not in my line of work...NO. It so happens that in my line of work, so matter your gender, height or colour.....if you are in a position of authority, you will be respected and if it doesn't happen due to insubordination, then there are consequences

However, am not sure about your tall people get respected more even if they are talking BS......obviously this won't happen in a very educated business, technology and scientific setting

Not this shiat again! Stop whining! It's just so not masculine.

Casanova was like what, 5'3", and look at all the women he had sex with.

If you aren't getting laid, it's not your height.

And FWIW, I've told WOMEN to stop whining. I'm an equal-opportunity offender hahaha.

You have a lot to learn about things then. Doesn't matter how smart or educated people are… They are still human. And humans tend to make assumptions about people. Read a book or find some articles about it… Tall people get respected more than shorter people even if they don't deserve it. Even people that talk with a loud and distinctive tone get more respected and people assume that they know what they're talking about because they speak well. Again, this isn't just my opinion… You can find all this information on your own.

Yep they do. Tall guys get EVERYTHING. Seriously, the life of a tall guy is so awesome it's not even funny. And all short guys live in their moms basement their entire life because they cannot do anything due to their shortness.

Based on my personal experience of being a short guy (that is both successful in his career and with women), these statements are the opposite of the truth.

I understand where you're coming from, and actually -- I agree with you.

But at the same time, you're tall. You've always been tall, and you're always going to be tall. You're never gonna be short. You don't know what the experience is.

At the same time, none of us short guys will ever know what it's like to be tall either. Is being tall THAT good? Is being short THAT bad? Is it really THAT much of a determining factor? We can never really know since we can't experience both.

If you were struggling in dating and everywhere you turned online was a woman saying men over 5'9 were weird and freakish looking and they preferred to date someone around their height, I'm sure you would get annoyed, and at some level, it would screw with your head. The thing is...with women online, you don't really know who's talking behind that computer screen. Also, you don't really know what choices these women actually make in real life. I've dated many girls that prefer tall guys, even some that have told me that I'm the only guy under 6 feet they ever dated. Some of these women came after me.

So you really shouldn't take anything you read online seriously.

It's like they want the short man to just accept the negative comments, never let it get to them, never let it get to them. If they speak up it's "ugh, see, another insecure short guy whining about his height. This is why I don't date them."

I think it's the opposite. I think they know that it will get a rise out of people and that's exactly what they want. It is something that is still socially acceptable to say. If they were able to hate on other races without getting banned from the internet, I'm sure they would.

I believe that OP created this thread to get a rise out of people. She succeeded.

I've been called cute or hot a few times, but I think I'm probably only a little above average.

I don't do well online so I can't be THAT good looking.

I believe that the reason I'm successful is because I'm awesome and have a positive outlook on life.

A positive outlook on life is most often caused by past successes. You have a reason to feel that you're awesome. That success builds upon itself and things get easier and easier.

If good things haven't happened to somebody, it would be very unusual for them to have a positive outlook.

The reason that I brought up looks, is that being pretty good looking can actually override being short.

I'm 5'6 and average looking and it took me a very long time to have any success with women. As I got older, my lack of success caused my confidence to drop more and more which of course only decreased my chance of success. Though I did win the lottery last year, I wonder if it will happen again.

Even though I have no way to test it, I wonder how much better I would have done with women if I were taller or better looking. Perhaps I would have a much higher level of confidence as well. Which would make things with women ever more easy.

I like tall guys. Most of the guys I've dated have been tall, a few were closer to 7 ft than 6ft!

I'm just more attracted to men with long legs. :o

The last guy i dated casually wasn't over 5'8 though.

I've had plenty of failures too, man. Probably more failures than successes, in fact.

When it comes to women, it only takes one success to make all of the failures worth it. ;)

If good things haven't happened to somebody, it would be very unusual for them to have a positive outlook.

Didn't you just get out of a relationship? That can be defined as a success.

The reason that I brought up looks, is that being pretty good looking can actually override being short.

Maybe, but I know short ugly guys that are in relationships with reasonably attractive girls.

As I said, I think your attitude and confidence play a big part in your lack of success.

Personally, I got a lot more confident when my career took off (though I seemed confident before, I was mostly faking it.....faking it does attract women though).

It's also worth mentioning that I got off to a very rocky start in my career and I was in a bad place. I was placed in an extremely difficult situation, pushed through it, and overcame it. Adversity builds character and confidence. Have you had any true adversity?

Even though I have no way to test it, I wonder how much better I would have done with women if I were taller or better looking. Perhaps I would have a much higher level of confidence as well. Which would make things with women ever more easy.

I think it matters a little, but not as much as people seem to think. Of course I will never know what it's like to be tall, but I do know that I got way less girls (and way lower quality girls) when I was down on myself and life.

When was the last time you talked to a girl?

I wonder how much better you'd do if you stopped making excuses for why you don't have success with women, and realized it is really in your control.
