hello all but i'd like to know if anyone else out there feels like this...

since breaking up with my girlfriend i have been somewhat devasted...

not eating, not sleeping, inability to do work, i actually feel a physical heaviness in my brain etc. etc. , all the usual textbook depression symptoms

i am trying to make an effort to get on with life, invited a friend down for games of chess tonight and actually won ( so my brain still works a bit anyway! )

in the mornings i am worse, can't get out of bed, as the day and night goes on i log on here and read, read, read

it makes me feel temporarily less desperate when i am on Loveshack

now like every other night i hope that tomorrow when i wake up i can return to work and try and find a bit of hope

but i know its probably a Pie in the Sky

i did some of the online depression scales ( i have been severely depressed before and treated before ) and they indicate i am just below the severe depression mark ( again! )

although i do not plan to kill or harm myself i am extremely worried

thanks to Loveshack!

;)

Hang in there Brian ;)

You know whats so amazing about LS (IMO)

The amazing people who are here.. the "bonds" (If you will) that you form with people.. the idea that people are willing to help out when in so many ways it doesn't serve them.. but in so many ways it does.. know what I mean?

When I feel really sh  tty about something thats happend.. I can come here.. talk about it.. have people tell me I'm okay and he's a jackass  AND that I can put away my own issues for awhile, and hopefully help someone else.. even if it's to make them smile and forget for awhile..

Hope you feel better soon sweetie..

thank you Merin,

what you say is very true about LS, we do form bonds with people here alright, last year i met a very special friend from across the Atlantic, we still send each other email and photos etc.

i need to visit my auntie again, last Friday night she made me something to eat and put the whole situation in Black & White kicking me temporarily out of my self-blaming self-destructive orb ( that it was my fault for the breakup )

since the ex sent me photos of herself recently and has phoned me i have been creating a similiar orb to torture myself in again

ps. what did people do before the net was invented? Loveshack down the pub every night?

You're more than welcome ;)

LS.. cheaper than a Pub.. no risk of a DUI  AND some pretty amazing people as well :)

I've read your threads Brian.. when relationships end (the ones that were/are important to us) it is devastating, and it is easy to beat yourself up with the what if's and the I should've.. tiempo is the only thing that really seems to help really heal and show you the reality of why things happend the way they did..as silly as it may be, I take "stock" in the little things that wouldn't have happend had a break up not occured regardless of the reason(s) know what I mean?

The heart is a resilant thing.. and with any luck the mind keeps the idea(s) and thoughts of what if's and should've and helps you grow in the next relationship..

I agree that this place is an incredible place to come to release some pain and get some feedback/support on no matter what the situation is! The bonds (even if just internet bonds) are so helpful and strong in some instances to help us each see through a sometimes foggy, (to us) unclear situation that we're in.

I also take comfort in the fact that there is always someone there who (for no matter what reason they come to LS) is willing to listen and give honest opinions, even if it's not what I want to hear, 9 times outta 10 it's what we need to hear and ends up helping us out even if just on a small level! :) LS rocks!

makes me think of the billy joel song, "you may be right" – I told you dirty jokes until you smiled ...." :D

ah, this place is the BEST, if a bit habit-forming!!!! I'm eternally grateful to the 'Shackers who've lifted my spirits when I've most needed it, who've pretty much kept reality from getting too real.

a thought for you, brain: take those photos your ex sent you, put 'em in an envelope with a note saying, "nice pictures, thanks for showing them to me" then send them back to her. It sounds a little junior high-ish, but believe me, you'll feel a bit better about being the one in control of the ball and which court it lands in, so to speak.

in the meantime, hang in there, man ... this too shall pass

I wish I had found this website when I got dumped for the first time and had my heart broken. As time goes by it does get easier. Trust me. I was reading revenge stories on what people did to their Ex's the net. Forgot what site that was on. That made me feel a little better. As well as doing other things like no contact. Etc.

After doing a search on Relationships I found Loveshack. :). Reading some certian things makes you relise I'm not the only person that's been through this others have as well and you can totally relate and try and help them out.

Also like that there are other things besides Relationships that you can talk about on here as well.

The Loveshack Community at a Pub. Now that would could be interesting. Guess the closest we can get to that is drinking an alcoholic drink next to the computer while on the website. Lol.

Although i'm not new to a broken heart i am new to love shack and i've got to say its helped me so much. The last few days have been as rough as hell but even just getting my problems down in words has helped no end and the advice has been great.

I've found comfort in other peoples stories and i now know that i'm not the only one who's been hurt and let down by a girl.

People here have given me hope and i now know that things will get better :) love shack rocks!!!
