i really have screwed up with a girl i like a lot. i mustered enough guts and asked her if she wanted to hang out sometime and she said yes. i had a day available but she had already planned something with her bestfriend, so being and idiot i just took the rejection and have never asked her again. i cant even really get the courage to talk to her at school without sounding like a total idiot. so now i doubt she is interested anymore. a friend of mine asked her what was up between us, and she said nothing was happenin, so i pretty much think she isnt interested no more. so do ya'll think i should just try to move on since it seems like she isnt interested no more???

Unless you are some sort of mindreader or psychic, you have no way of knowing if she is no longer interested. It just sounds like you're using this as an excuse for not having the nerve to ask her again to hang out.

She is probably waiting for you to ask. You've got to snap out of this fear you have. She did not reject you the first time, she had just already made other plans. People don't plan their lives around you.

So ask her out again and, if she has plans, ask her when's a good time to get together. This is the way it works with ALL females so you better get used to it.

Besides, rejection has never, ever killed anyone and it only sort of smarts for a minute or two and it's over. I'll take rejection over having a nurse draw a blood sample any day of the week.

... you just gave up too easily. So fix it; throw something out there and see if she takes the bait.

Start off by talking to her, a quick conversation in passing. You've done no permanent damage to this relationship. A little attention and patience will get you back in the running.

Please don't be upset about this. Many people have busy schedules or other plans, it happens all the time. Don't worry, you didn't screw anything up, and you didn't get "rejected". If she said, I hate your guts, I don't ever want to see you...now that's rejection. And you don't know if she's interested or not. And you won't find out if you shy away.

This reminds me of a situation when I really felt like an idiot:

There was this guy at my university that I liked, I was absolutely crazy about him!! But we'd only talked at school.

Well I was doing some research involving plants in the greenhouse. And I realized that I would have to goto the greenhouse Fri evening to water the plants, take soil samples, measurements, etc. I also had to pick up/drop off someone helping me out, and it was an hour drive either way. So it would basically take up all my time on Friday.

So on Thursday, and I ran into this guy after class, and he started talking to me, and before you know it, he asked me if I wanted to have dinner with him Fri night. I was so shocked!!!!! I wanted to scream, YESSS OH YES!!! But the first thing that came to my mind was my research in the greenhouse, and I was so nervous/shocked/tongue-tied that I blurted out "Uhhhhh I have to water my plants tomorrow night".

Right then, he looked like he had just been slapped in the face, he blushed, mumbled something and was about to leave, and I realized what that must have sounded like---total rejection. Luckily, I quickly explained myself before he disappeared.

So even if you feel like you were rejected just cause someone says they're busy, just know that most likely, they are busy, and "muster up the guts" again and ask them another time.

You know that old saying :

"If at first you don't succeed, try again with another parachute." (Or something like that!)

Anyways , don't be concerned if she says no.Rejection hurts a lot to everyone not just you.But Life takes a lot of guts sometimes.Being brave today makes it easier to be brave tomorrow. SO even if she says no, you still win because you've overcome some of your fears.

So your homework assignment for today is to go up that girl, look her straight in the eye, and ask her out!

We will be expecting a report on what happened tommorow. And you will be marked for effort put in, not results!
