herself
I have started a 2 week juice cleanse. Not following a program or recipes, just juicing every day with a ton of veg & fruit, just using lots of colors. So i want to keep up with the gym, I go 7 days per werk. Is that ok? Should i add protein powder to juice or something?
Ed the 3rd
Just so you know I thought this thread was going to be about steroids haha! Whats the purpose of this temp diet? I've personally never heard of it. Actually to be perfectly honest I'm not sure how a diet consisting of solely carbs, sugars and no fiber can help in any way. But if you must do this apply the basics. Find a good source of protein to stop your muscles melting off it that really is the only source of protein you are letting yourself eat. Author herself
Its just to clean colon & reset, rejuvinste body. Its from the documentary fat, sick, and almost dead. Its not for weight loss but for just pure vitamins & health benefits & fiber is left out to not make colon process anything. Theres an equal amount of fans & critics for it. I think ir can be dangerous long term, but fantastic short term. There is protein in fruits and veggies. In longterm its better to eat them whole though. I was not able to get past the food craving so i have eaten every day hence not getting" cleansed" but am getting benefits of raw juice. Sigh, wanted to go full force but failed. melell
It is short term, so won't do much damage, but at the same time the benefits will be quite minimal. I think as far as detox goes a 7 day water fast cleanses equal to a 21 day juice fast. But if you stay really clean after you will continue to detoxify. I have been to the gym while water fasting/in heavy ketosis. Also been to the gym while juicing, the later being 100x easier. You might struggle the first few days, as your body adjusts, but after that you should be fine. As long as you are having sufficient calories from the juice you won't be losing any muscle. Some juice recipes are ultra healthy but can start pushing 500cals, so three of them a day and you will be fine. No need to add protein, especially if your goal is to cleanse. Good luck! jba10582
I was taking a couple supplements, Chlorella and Spirulina, they are two detoxifying foods that I was taking while I was being very cognizant about alkaline foods I was eating, and I felt really good when using them. I don't know if it was a placebo or not...but I think it seems to work for me, and, as a guy, I actually received two compliments at that time about how my skin looked really healthy, something that people don't typically just say outright, so its not something I hear very much, and think it may have an anti-aging type effect as well...plus I believe the they do have protein in them as well. AND..as far as the protein goes, I think if you do anything that would cause a micro-tear to the muscles, and you do not eat enough protein, it will create a catabolic state. I know that is not the main idea or goal here, but, it is something to think about, maybe as a secondary consideration if it fits the correct dietary needs of your cleanse. Emilia
Juicing diets are just a fad. I don't know whose idea it was that you should be consuming 5 carrots or 10 apples in one go. What's the point of this anyway since it's only a short term measure? Just make sure you have a clean diet and exercise effectively, ideally building muscle rather than just keep losing tissue wasting away. Forget about fad diets.
nais
My loctitian juiced for 40 days and lost so much weight- Fruits and Vegis have fiber- not sure where the idea came from there wasn't any. I have also started looking into coffee cleanses to help eliminate toxins from the colon and liver. It requires some research, the main thing I noted has been the use of organic coffee with purified water vs tap water and any otc coffee. I saw a recipe for a soup to eat of juicing days- has meat in it for those who eat meat.
