iDrumKing
I've heard so many people advise that working out can be one of THE best activities to get over an ex. It makes you feel better, but it will MAKE you look better as well. So for those who have improved themselves physically, were you getting more stares or changes in interaction from the opposite sex? And did people in general treat you differently?
newmoon
yes, changes to the physical appearance brought a lot more attention. but was the reason because of the working out, or because I felt better about myself and projected that confidence outward?
gaius
In general I do everything possible to avoid people in public. Limited eye contact, a puss on my face, earbuds sometimes and it hasn't stopped women from looking and sometimes talking to me when I'm in a tshirt. On my last first date i actually got approached when i was waiting for a cab right after it ended. So it's probably mostly looks. Energy is more important when it comes to keeping someone interested. Ed the 3rd
Eh I don't know. If YOU want to workout for YOURSELF then please don't let anything stop you. Working out for others never usually ends well. For every person who has told me I'm a muscle bound badass with pectorals that would put Thor to shame 2 have told me I was too fat or skinny or imperfect somehow in my own little ways. It can be dangerous as I have battled with the urge to give in and use steroids many times. But yes even with that in mind its a better life then when I was clinically obese.
