semi-bloody discharge (sorry if it's gross)

i thought i had a yeast infection. ( i've had them before)

 

i used the monistat one day "egg" and i feel somewhat better.

 

but when i went to the bathroom, i put my finger in there to see what was going on (like most females probably do) and the discharge came out bloody. not very bloody, but enough to notice there is blood in it. my periiod is not due right now.

 

is this something else?

 

i know i should go to my doctor anyway, and i will, but i am looking for someone to tell me what this might be, if it's something else.

 

i have been with the same person exclusively for the pat 8 months, in case this info is needed.

you could be getting your period, ovulating, or sometimes you will "bleed" when you are nervous. maybe you even scratched something while you put the monistat egg in.

sounds like you have a yeast infection. don't use the capsules if it doesn't work for you.

 

don't be scared. this is not a symptom of an STD. It's unlikely it would be a something serious like cancer or anthing in that field.

 

the discharge of a yeast infection is usually think white or yellow, it can look like cottage cheese or be thick and drippy. you can be itchy and burning too. but if you feel a little nervous, go see the gyno anyhow. a nurse can check it out and take bacteria samples and tell you in minutes if it is a yeast infection. they will give you std test to rule it out, but they always have to do that so don't let that make you nervous.

i know, like i said, i have had a yeast infection before. also, this is not my period. i should mention i am in my 20's.

 

i just never have had this happen...

Another thought: Are you on the pill? This could be pill-related spotting that is happening at the same time as a yeast infection, perhaps.

That Monistat one day treatment is wicked strong, it could have seriously irritated your membranes (on top of the yeast infection or whatever you have). If you are still experiencing the discharge tomorrow, I'd head for the doctor.

nope , no pill.

 

i was on it for 8 years, but i've been off of it for 2 years now.

 

i'm really freaked out.

Although it would be wise to see your doctor since you are worried, I am 99.9% sure that this is a harmless irritation that will resolve itself.

 

It may be similar to having a bad cough or cold - it's not unusual to find some blood in the mucus from your throat.

 

Sligth bleeding that comes, then goes, without any repeat incidents and no other warning signs, is rarely a serious medical problem.

i just get nervous because it seems i might have some problems.

 

i have had one pregnancy that resulted in a miscarriage ( more than a year and a half ago) and have had difficulty getting pregnant since then. i know it can take some time after that experience.

 

i am healthy now, or i assumed i was.

 

the lack of pregnancy is not such a big deal, but i just thought with all this other stuff and weird symptoms combined, maybe there is something bigger going on that i don't know about.

I say go to the doc to get a pap test. At least then you will know if your in the clear of problems down there.
