mammasita
I hate it. I know its me - that its in my head. Last night I'm laying in bed thinking about how great my BF is, how absolutely happy he makes me, how great a future with him will be, how much I'm completely falling in love with him..... then screeching halt -> negative thoughts pour in..... BLAH .
Frank2thepoint
I would say it is a normal coping mechanism to think of bad stuff, because you are tempered by experience. Supposedly, the older you get, the more wise you are. Therefore thinking of happy things about the love of your life, also invokes an inner defense mechanism to not get too lost in your blind love, because if things go bad, you will be reeling from the shock. Also, I've learned that when negative thoughts creep in with the happy stuff, there is a small amount of doubt within that is warning you to proceed with caution. Think of it as gut instincts.
lovenotwar
If it's a serious problem for you, consider counseling. It will help.
gaius
It's good to have negative thoughts, then it's always extra satisfying when things actually go well.
