Robert Z
I have been off of my program for a month due to a back injury. I needed to get back on it but was having a hard time getting motivated. In the past I have used sex as a motivator. But this time I was taken by surprise. Even though the sb is in fantastic shape, she just started the P90X program. Knowing she is doing this every day finally guilted me into getting off of my ass again. I am starting to think that fitness is like chess. You always want to match yourself with more capable opponents; or in this case, a buddy who is thirty years younger. Knowing how much she pushes herself makes me want to work harder. I know that at times I have motivated her as well. In that case it was my determination.
melell
I agree, and especially with fitness. Most things that I do, exercise or otherwise, come from some form of motivation/inspiration from others-who I see as more capable. It triggers our ego or something. I know a overindulged ego is a negative thing, but as a fundamental part of an individual, it seems to be the key for making progress. I find it really interesting, because eventually you become the a motivator. Or in another area you are already the motivator. Hope the back trouble is over Good for you op.
