N - acetyl cysteine (nac)

Was looking into this amino acid and couldn't find any negative side effects of it's usage. The dosing is in the range of 250 mg to about 2000 mg and it had a a list of things it was effective for or being researched for, including things like, acetaminophen poisoning, organ failure, detoxification of heavy metals, increased protein synthesis, researched for a host of psychiatric disorders, bronchitis, heart diseases, liver damage, increased production of white blood cells and immune support, polycystic ovarian syndrome, possible treatment of hiv, pneumonia, cystic fibrosis, diabetes management.

 

It is sold as an anti-oxidant supplement. With all the variety of people here from psychiatrist, weightlifters and overall health conscious people and its giant list of things does anyone here use this?
