Loveless21
How "illegal" is it to hack into a spouse's facebook to see if their cheating? Is it something that can be filed against me in court during divorce time? Jail time? Can my spouse call the cops and file a report SHOULD I BE NERVOUS? Or do most people do something like this? fizzylifting
It is a crime to break into someone's email or cell phone. This is a link to an article about a man who broke into his wifes email and was charged for it. Although the police ended up not being able to use the wifes testimony because she admitted to looking at her husbands phone logs, which would have incriminated her of the same crime, and so the charges were dropped. I would say hire a private investigator. Man who spied on cheating wife?s email has charges against him dropped (because she was snooping back) | Naked Security
Chi townD
It depends on your states wiretapping laws. Even if it's illegal in your state, charges would have to be filed and the DA would review the case and decide if they want to push the charges or not. Considering the DA's offices are usually stacked ceiling high with cases of robberies, murders, rapists and gang activity, chances are they're not going to waste the taxpayers money over a woman trying to figure out if her husband is cheating on her. It is likely illegal. Best way to answer this is to consult an atty in your area. If the computer in question can be considered joint (owned or used by both parters) - you have more leeway. Again, consult an atty first. In all likelihood, you can likely "obtain" the password (especially if a jointly used PC), read the messages (heck even forward to yourself) and go from there. TroyNJ
It is NOT illegal to "hack" into a spouses facebook account or email...I went through this very thing. If you are married and share a PC, it is not illegal.

trippi1432
:lmao: Ahem....LOL!!! Lawd!! That reminds me that my exH went jogging one day and his penis fell into a vagina. hahahaha!! No one can take your kids away from you for having the password to your husband's facebook account, nor can he threaten to take the kids on the account that he gets busted. Now how you react to what you find IS on you. Depending on what state you live in, you may be able to use any proof you can find of infidelity as evidence in an Alienation of Affection lawsuit. Consult an attorney on that. It's legal in my state to sue for Alienation of Affection, but really only worth it if either of them have money. You go after the AP and either she pays or he is going to pay on her behalf. Women in my state have won Million dollar lawsuits, a few men too.
trippi1432
It appears that seven states allow this now, maybe more since 2009. Considering that laws are going to govern the gender of who people can love, it only seems fitting that the law finally takes on the infidelity factor. Misadventure
How "illegal" is it to hack into a spouse's facebook to see if their cheating? Is it something that can be filed against me in court during divorce time? Jail time? Can my spouse call the cops and file a report SHOULD I BE NERVOUS? Or do most people do something like this? Ok.. so I am probably egging on the fire but it's better to know than to not know. Is it illegal... very gray area as you are married legally. Since so many things are shared in a marriage.. this is a gray area legally. Unethical, depends on your point of view. But do you deserve to know if the spouse is cheating and this is a way? Yes. Jail time, no.. Unless you do something illegal with his acct. So if you are going to do it.. be smart about it.. don't do it from your house. If you have a laptop take the laptop to a free point of access wifi (mcdonalds/panera/ etc)... you will need to go into your name of your computer to change the name before you access wifi for your own safety reasons. Easy to change your computer name in settings. Then yes.. you can attempt many times to put what passwords you think he has and get into his FB. There is no way to prove you did it unless you say something while on his FB. You would also eventually have to erase this entire thread if you manage to do so to not incriminate yourself. If you think he is cheating he most likely is. If you find proof of it on FB you can't use it because you went into it without his permission.. BUT at least you have a name and know who it is and can hire someone or do your own detective work outside of FB that can be used against him. Happy Hunting.

I hope the jilted spouses sue the ones who break the household and therein.. say goodbye to that spouse who went wayward too as the lover most likely won't stay in a relationship that costs them monetarily.

Chi townD
HE's just mad he got caught in all of his lies. He's venting and trying to blameshift everything on you. Like, finding out the truth is the most dishonest thing you could EVER do. Invading someone's privacy should be a capital offense. Yeah...right, dude.
