Can dancing replace cardio?

These days I practice yoga for 30 minutes every day, and I also do 30 minute circuit training 5 days a week.

I feel that I am missing some cardio, but I don't really like running/biking etc.

On the other hand, I really like oriental dancing (belly dancing). Is is considered enough for cardio, if I do 1 hour per day? (I can easily do even two hours per day if I have the time, because I like it so much).

Anything that gets your heart rate up is fair game.

Dancing is indeed cardio. Not sure how belly dancing fit in on the scale, but sure, it's cardio. Might be soft though...

I've gone dancing with my dad and it's definitely a workout. You may have also noticed that most dancers are in very good shape as most sessions of dancing are about 2 hours long.

Sure it can as long as your getting your heart rate up. Ever try Zumba? It's a ton of fun and very good cardio. Dance away.

I just put on music and dance high energy for 30 minutes to 45 minutes, it's a great workout. much better than belly dance. I did that for a semester at a local college and it wasn't cardio at all, at least not at a beginner level.

One of my favorite home workouts is to put on good music for an hour or so, and do intervals of higher-intensity dancing and cardio, mixed with intervals of strength training (crunches, squats, free weights for shoulders, etc.). It's a great workout.
