M30USA
My ex wife moved back to her hometown with my children 2 years ago after divorce. I've been 2.5 hours away ever since. I get 1/3/5 weekends, every Spring Break, alternate holidays, and 6 weeks every summer. I only would get "expanded possession" if I moved there, which equates to 1 extra overnight per week (Thursdays). Life here is good. I have the marriage home, tons of activities available for my children right nearby, it's the #1 family city in my state (which surprises me that ex left), plus I know for a FACT that I can be a better parent here. Any dads NOT follow the mom? How is it working out? What do you forsee in the future?
nohardfelines
I have a feeling that mine will try and make the move to be with the OM, and that's something like 7 hours away. I'm really, reaaaalllly hoping we can work something out, because i'm terrified of losing my children.
Author M30USA
I have a feeling that mine will try and make the move to be with the OM, and that's something like 7 hours away. Even if her household income doubles. Most states these days assume that frequent contact with both parents is in the best interest of children and, even as a woman, she has a big case to make by ripping your kids 7 hours away. This is one area of family law where women DONT seem to make out like bandits. Edited March 16, 2014 by M30USA
