My friend is just starting the process of divorce. He is reviewing the drafts that his lawyer sent him.

Now the problem. They are supposed to go on a family vacation (with her) in April. He has not made the reservations yet but him and the kids do not want her to go. He would be happier just going with the kids.

The wife and him have talked about divorce but one day she brings it up, the next day she's going on vacation. She has a mental issue also, so this doesn't surprise me that she swings back and forth.

He said he's in a tough situation. But I'm thinking, if he's divorcing her, why on earth would he include her? How would you get out of this situation?

Buy tickets for just the kids and him.

You posted about their problems already.

Same thing applies - if he's divorcing her, there's no need to include her in anything, any more, or consider her above all things.

Yes, thank you Tara Maiden. I thought I should start a new thread about this since it was a new subject. New to this divorce posting thing!

But I agree...he's constantly talking about it and I wanted some opinions about what to say to him.

Are you a man or a woman?

No - he shouldn't consider including her in anything - excluding her sends the consistent message to her that it's over now and things have changed.

The fact that he has considered including her shows that he isn't thinking that it's over...
