Jagger341
I am currently 22 years old and am on Social Security Disability with a company as a representative payee. Almost a week ago, I was offered a job at Taco Bell by my neighbor who is manager in training for the breakfast menu yet to come. He says I am able to work part time, but if I had the desire to work full time, I am free to do that as well. I told him about my situation with SSDI and having a payee, and he told me that if I did try to get myself off of SSDI, he will see to it that I get full time work at Taco Bell. The problem, however, is that I don't know the first thing about getting off of SSDI. How do I do this?
MidwestUSA
I don't know how you get off it. Perhaps a check of the SS administration's home page would guide you? But, you need to make absolutely SURE you can do the job you're offered. I would imagine it could be difficult to get back on SSDI once you give it up. Do you live with your parents? They should be able to help. Good luck!

MidwestUSA
No, I actually live alone at the moment. Okay, well the rest of my reply stands. Make sure the job will absolutely work out, and maybe check with your local SS office, or their website.
Mr Scorpio
If I were you, I would be more concerned over whether or not I could afford to pay rent and live from working at Taco Bell.

I'm pretty sure you would need the doctor(s) that put you out in the beginning to clear you for work.
almond
You need to contact the relevant welfare office - no one here will be able to advise you of the specifics as we don't know your situation or even your location, but all it takes is a simple phone call to find out for yourself. This isn't a problem - with things like this, you just take the initiative, make the call, and get the information. Congratulations on the job offer - hope things work out for you
