I don't think this is an emergency or else I'd be going to the hospital. But I've had chest pain for the last couple of hours. It started when I was on the treadmill. It's very sharp and it's only on the left side. It's radiating into my shoulder. My chest is not tight and I don't feel nauseous or anything..I don't think it's a heart attack or anything. It's very painful though, and I have to take shallow breaths because it hurts when I breathe deeply in or out.

What could this be and how can I make it stop?

Sounds exactly like heartattack symptoms, so i hope someone is close, call them.

The only time i ever get chest pain is from anxiety/adrenaline, muscle contracts but in no way affects my shoulders.

Do you feel clammy and warm? Sweaty at all? Better to be safe than sorry but I would go to your local hospital and get checked out asap. Chances are you've pulled a diaphragm muscle and that's what is causing the pain but if I were you, I'd go straight to the ER, JUST in case this is something more serious.

Women and men have different symptoms when having a heart attack so now after re-reading your thread and others replies, DO get to the hospital. Ask a neighbour or friend to take you, or a family member. Or call 911 if you still are feeling this way right now.

I also have some pain. Not in the chest but in my gut. It's like a very slight cramp in my gut just below the ribcage. I've been drinking a lot lately I dunno if that's what's causing it or what. I used to have a physical job where I was on my feet all the time now I sit at a desk so I dunno if it's from sitting all the time.

Either way I'm going to the doctor tomorrow. I hope it's not a liver problem....
