Is there really some truth to the women age like milk and men like wine

We all age. The obsession is ridiculous. Would anyone wish to look like they are 11 again? No? Why not? After all, looking younger is better, isnt it?

True it might be our focus to always want to be young but don't you think it's also irritating seeing certain male oriented sites such as bodybuilding.com or other sites that keeps on making endless posts about how we're past our primes after turning 29. Some of those guys are the very same ones that want to play the field and keep advicing other male posters to only seek 18-23 year old girls when thinking about settling down.

After a certain time of reading all that, it does makes you think if there is after all some true to it. I know I'll never be 19-22 years old again. I just want to age as slowly as possible.

Another thing is, as you get older and also start seeing the people around you age, you develop different ideas of attractiveness. Your mind opens to wider definitions of "beautiful" or "handsome."

For example, when I was late teens/early 20s I probably just automatically dismissed anyone in their mid-30s and above as "old" and didn't pay much attention to their looks. Now that I'm older myself, I appreciate more defined faces with some character. Lines/wrinkles and a loss of plumpness in the face can actually make someone look more like "themselves" if that makes sense.

I've come to the point where the chubby, smooth face of a 21-year-old generally strikes me as almost boring. People who cling to this visual ideal as they get older themselves just creep me out.

I've come to the point where the chubby, smooth face of a 21-year-old generally strikes me as almost boring. People who cling to this visual ideal as they get older themselves just creep me out.

I agree. Though, I think this is due to the result of some creepy men out there. Elsewhere, I read about a 25 year-old man about dating his 17 year-old gf and how he only wants virgins because according to him women in their mid-late 20's are damaged goods. Another thing he mentioned is he wants to get married within 2 years. Poor girl. Makes me wonder if that girl would even want to just get married at that age??

I'm going to assume that those guys only make up the minority and I'm still worth dating, weeding out the creeps.

You're right. They wouldn't be worth my time. It's sad to hear that they won't get to know other qualities about me besides being 27 due to their obsession about only wanting very young girls (even worse if they're older themselves).

I have to say that no, very few women at that age want to settle down. More than likely, they want to go to college.

While for sure, not all body builders are created equal (tman for one of the best examples), a large majority aren't the brightest of sparks so try not to take their comments to heart. They're not your target audience.

How well a person ages depends on genetics and lifestyle. Gender is not much of a factor. Some people, because of genetics, will age better than others. People who live a healthier lifestyle (eat right and exercise, refrain from smoking, alcohol, and drugs, get enough sleep, limit sun exposure, and take good care of themselves) will age much better than those who don't take good care of themselves. I've seen men in their 20s who look much older than they are. Genetics and lifestyle will determine how well a person ages.

I dont "bodybuild" per se, but I have a bobybuilders physique because of the type of training I enjoy....and aoms tattoos as well...The same people that say what you say, couldn't do what I do, nor accomplish what I have accomplished in my professional life if they had 72 hours a day to work with....If they dont know me, they immediately assume I couldnt possibly have what I have from being successful....I must have hit the lottery...Its kind of dumb...These folks are just like anyone else...Some are dumb and some are smart...Not saying this is true of you, but a lot of people say this kinda stuff out of sheer envy....

As for who ages better...Like stated...Its all about genetics and how you treat yourself....Garbage in....Garbage out...

I'm a 19 year old guy.

I have only been seduced by a woman that was I think 32 years old and I have never been so mentally and physically stimulated. I was mentally stimulated because she carried herself so differently ( I seriously still cannot comprehend this feeling to explain it) and her body was so filled out. She kept herself fit but she had have a few extra pounds but :love:.....

My friends tease me every time I check out an older women but they don't know the truth

Statistically speaking, maybe, but any dim bulb would characterize a "large majority"(as you stated), as way more than 50%....

But, Im just a meathead...what do I know?...

Getting back to the original topic....

Where the original comment emanated probably has some merit as it pertains to gender differences.

I think its easier for men to maintain/build a better physique in their later years than it is for women...Any dim bulb knows that aging women have a tendency for weight gain, muscle atrophy, osteoporosis, etc.. that surpasses that of men..If anyone has seen the show "the Biggest Loser", the men crush the women...Throw menopause into the mix and its a mountain thats very high to ascend..

When I see a middle aged woman that is in phenomenal shape I really take my hat off...Unless she has ridiculous genetics, it is a mountain of hard work that went into it...Conversely, I know at least 10 guys that are over 40(one that is over 60)that have physiques that most 20 something men would gladly take...And they are just exercising like anyone else would.

From the neck up, its a draw, IMO...Genetics, stay out of the sun, and live clean...or go see the plastic surgeon..

that's true. when I see 18 year olds or 20 year olds, they literally look like children to me. baby faces. my immediate innate reaction would be "ew" - not attraction. whether men see it the same way with young women....I'm not so sure. probably not, since men are attracted to youth and beauty, and even I can honestly admit that I looked better at 20 or 25 than I do now in my 30s. but what man at 25 wants to settle down anyway? either they are not ready financially, or they want to play the field...but of course, in their 30s they then expect a young virgin to wait for them - after they are done with THEIR partying phase. so I understand when men are resentful of women who party their youth away and then expect to settle down in their 30s....but isn't that exactly what those men do themselves?

Yeah it really sounds pathetic. Is that young virgin they want to marry actually going to even go to college and make something of herself or going to be another unambitious girl that's only going to bear him kids and be his housewife? What girl's parent would be happy with that situation anyways?

By doing that, it's like those men don't want a woman to be smart herself; beyond HS.

I wouldn't want my kid brother (when he grows up) to marry an unambitious girl that's only pretty but has no other qualities at all.

It's not about the housewife, at least not for me. I'd love to stay at home and do nothing but running the house and taking care of kids, going to work is a necessary evil for me. Besides, housewives are really underrated and under-appreciated and housewives can be as smart or intelligent as people with a college degree (or would you say your grandmother and great-grandmother were dumb?)

No, what it's about is that even IF there were women who were ready to get married straight out of HS (say, 18) - who are they supposed to get married to? The 18 year old male classmates? The 23 year old college boys who are not financially set and want to party in college like a stereotypical frat guy? WHO? Men resent women's "unwillingness" to settle down with them when young - but are the men in the age group of 18 - 25 actually ready to settle down? No, nowadays that age group just wants to play the field first and later, maybe in their 30s (if at all) are ready to settle down. So they hypocritically condemn women for the very same thing they are doing. So what's an 18 year old supposed to do? Marry an old guy in his 30s (we all know that at that age, people over 30 seemed ancient to us and on their way to the nursery home).

What you witness on those forums that you mentioned earlier is just male hypocrisy. Ignore it...most men are not aging very well either, they lose their hair in their mid 20s, have hair growing out of their noses and ears and sport a huge gut from years of partying. IF we take into account that with men, appearance matters less than status - OK, most men will never accumulate the type of status equivalent to a female supermodel.

At the end of the day, there's nothing you can do about aging anyway. No amount of fitness, botox, plastic surgery, diet will EVER make you look like youre 20 again. Forget it. Look at Christie Brinkley, the most amazing 60 year old I've ever seen: she STILL doesn't like she is 20, despite her having some excellent plastic surgeon who did very subtle and refined work.

Look at Christie Brinkley, the most amazing 60 year old I've ever seen: she STILL doesn't like she is 20, despite her having some excellent plastic surgeon who did very subtle and refined work.

I know this Negative Nancy. I only got 3 more years and my 20's are over. Oh well it's part of life.

Going to just make the best of it and not focus too much on my age. I'm counting on my mother's gene and hopefully when I get to 49 (her age), I'll look younger.

so milk sours with age and you get brie and wine ferments gets yeasty and supposedly tastes better and if you drink enough of it but a side effect of wine it makes you throw up whereas a sour old aged milk drink in oz is called yakult and is full of probiotics that makes a man healthier which would point to a healthier life .....sort of like studies show a man in a happy marriage lives longer.....?

i would think wrinkles shouldnt be counted....all of us are responsible for wrinkles on our mothers, bags under the eyes and sleepless nights........i think appreciation of a healthier life in spite of wrinkles with the woman who is like milk and makes littl emilk bottles is apt and give the aged wine time to think and ripen......never drink a whole bottle.......actually dont drink it....have wine appreciation nights where you talk about the wine in a positive manner to inspire more talk about the beauty of yakult and wine as partners........forget about wrinkles.....rub hair conditioner on the wrinkles and drink yakult together......deb
