You dont mention your ages so a hard one to answer. if you are both under age then her father is obligated, under law, to do what he thinks is reasonably suitable for his daughter. If both of you are the age of consent then the problem most likely lays with her father. If you "Really" care for this girl go see the father and confront him. Ask him what his fears are.
