Being emotionally closed and physically open,Anyone?

Me and my significant other are 20 hours away (taking flight)

And more than 12 hours time difference.

It's difficult.

We see each other every 4-6 months.

Every time people ask me how does this even work,I tell them we're emotionally closed and physically open.

Means we can have casual hookup when we're apart.

But when we're together physically we're just like normal couple.

It needs a lot of trusts.

We even talk about the details of these hookups and be completely honest with it.

Whenever I say this to people they think we are wried or we don't really like each other.

I just wonder if anyone out there is doing the same?

This sounds like any other open relationship to me - as far as I understand open relationships. The only difference is that it's long distance.

There are risks associated with the lifestyle which presumably you have considered, and are prepared to accept.

Most people prefer monogamy but, if an open LDR works for you, does it matter what anyone else thinks?
