How to know if LT BF really wants to get married...

Recommended Posts

I have been with my (ex)boyfriend for 9 years....He has not asked me to marry him and when I asked him about it, he says he is not ready(I have brought it up a few times in the last couple of years)..Last year he bought himself an expensive toy. I found that insulting because he spent $5000 on a toy for himself and not a ring.....I didn't want to push him for it either, So I left....

We Got along great we never fight and were Best friends, except for the fact that we are both in our 30's and I want to get married and have a family...(not sure about kids, but I don't want to loose the opportunity of possibly having children)

Well I left him 2 months ago, and he still calls and tells me he misses me and wants to get backtogether and get married...how do I know this is from his heart..

What should he be doing to really proove himself.......

P.s in the 2 months we have split, I met a great guy, who treats me really well, but I can't get my ex outa my head..I feel like this is jeoporidizing my new relationship, because I'm still in love with my ex...

Any advice would be great!!!

hmm......

He's asked you to get married now, which is what you wanted, so what's the problem?

Like the song says, sometimes people don't know what they've got 'till it's gone.

What are his thoughst on having children?

Have a long serious conversation about marriage & kids & get back with the guy!

You need to make a decision about which relationship will be best for you. You are right - you are jepordizing your relationship with the other guy and perhaps being unfair to him.

People are often told to leave their boyfriend if they want the relationship to move on - it seems it shakes them up and makes them realise what they want - either that or they are so scared to lose you they jump. Make sure you know what you want cause this seems to have worked in your case - but did you leave him cause you wanted to get married to him, or because your relationship wasn't working? If you get back with your ex maybe you should try pre marital counseling first.
