How long will my acne last?

Recommended Posts

Well apart from adding another inch, well a bit more (if you remember my first post, I'm now at 5'7) ever since April, I've been getting zits on my face. I never had a problem with this before. It just happened suddenly.

Right now I have 4 ugly zits on my right side of my face and other ugly ones on the other side. I tried popping one but it seems that it's not going away.

I just hope it doesn't leave acne scars on my face. I really didn't see this coming. I look ugly with these zits.

If they are regular pimples try using natural products. Try Tea Tree Oil if you can find it. Use a very simple face wash (cetaphil is great), and I know it's hard not to pop pimples, but if you do, put aloe on them to reduce the chance of scarring, but make sure it's a high dosage of aloe. I'd say 97% aloe or more.

If they're cystic acne I would recommend going to a doctor as soon as possible. I left mine alone thinkin they'd go away on their own and ended up with welts on my forehead and I now have bad scars from them.

I never had much acne during my teenage years, but I still do (at almost 25) still get acne. I had an issue with it for over a year recently. For me, it's because of high stress that usually causes my acne to flare up really bad. No amount of facial cleanser worked.

Go and see a dermatologist OP. Dermatology - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Don't pop them. Go get an over-the-counter cleanser with salicylic acid (BHA) in it and see if that works. If it doesn't, get a cream with benzoyl peroxide. If both don't work, time to see a GP. He'll try some prescription meds for you, and if those fail too (highly unlikely), he'll refer you to a dermatologist.

I think that you should try out some natural remedies like putting the Aloe Vera gel or the patch where you have got zits or try looking for a better product that would help you solve out the problem as there are abundance of it in the market.

i've had acne since i was a pre-teen. i'm in my 40's now, and i've pretty much accepted the fact that my acne will never go away entirely. at this point it comes and goes, but it can be pretty severe at times. one of the best products i've used over the years is a topical solution called Cleocin, which is prescibed by a dermatologist. another one that worked really well for me is MaxClarity, which can be ordered online without a prescription. it's a 3-part system which you use twice a day, similar to ProActiv, but i found that MaxClarity worked much better than ProActiv.

I took Accutane and it completely wiped out my acne permanently.

It gets a bad rap in the media - but it worked great for me, without any side effects nor problems. Still available in generic form.

Well the media has made out Accutane to be a monster, but lots of folks took it without any side effects, such as me.

I took not one but two full courses of Accutane, one in 1991 and again in 1992 (my acne came back after the first full course in 1991, which is rare, very few people have to take Accutane twice) and the second course of Accutane did the trick, no more acne. I had moderate to severe acne on my face and back.

One thing I noticed about my acne. My acne DID get worse when I ate chocolate. They say that is a myth, but it's not. Chocolate and junk foods such as greasy hamburgers and french fries, DID exacerbate my acne. But particularly chocolate. I don't know why.
