Being slim (like 19 BMI) as a guy: detrimental or benign?

Recommended Posts

It depends on the girl.

Focus more on the inner you & it will all be fine in the end.

I had a BMI of 16.8 when I was 18, today at almost 51 my BMI is 22.6 and I can tell you that after having no trouble dating or having GF's from 16 on and even being in my second marriage being thin didn't hinder me at all in dating.

I always felt that my personality and humor was my secret to getting a woman out her panties :)

Always Pondering

Hello R3d,

I believe you are the poster that was seeking advice about how to attract girls right? If so, I hope you are making progress in that!

My current BMI is 20.6 if I remember correctly, but it should go up a little soon for some lifestyle changes that I have just recently picked up.

I find personality, humor, and confidence more attractive to a woman (not that appearance doesn't count, it obviously does) and I actually rarely ever think about my height or BMI when I approach women.

I once was in a relationship with a woman who has only dated men much taller than me and much more built. By much more built, I mean MUCH more built. It turns out, I was her longest boyfriend in terms of a relationship and also was the best apparently. So my point is, it depends on the woman but just be yourself as cheesy as that sounds.

well I'm 28 and my BMI is currently 18.5 I've always been tall and skinny, its never really bothered me too much until recently when i keep getting pestered about putting on weight, I think I have high metabolism so its always been an issue and i also worry about whether this is attractive to women or not.

My guy is very lean (probably a lower BMI than yours) and I think he's mighty fine. The bonus of being lean is that you get nice abs and a V at the lower torso without much effort... :p

Seriously, don't worry about it, as long as you're eating healthy and living a reasonably active lifestyle.
