Does ambien make your partner mean when they take it and are mad at you already?

My G/F cant sleep at night so she takes ambien. When she is mad at me or has a bad day and takes ambien at night she says some really cruel and hurtful things to me

Mean? possibly.

I'm actually on ambien right now so lets see how this goes.

Alright, so ambien is a lot like alcohol as that it makes your coordination bad. you stumble around, slur your words, and you have a basically drunk person there, with increased feelings of euphoria.

You have zero control of where your mind goes. its on its own train of though now, and it rides here, there , and everywhere.

I'ts more than possible for some one to try and fight in this state of mind, make absolutely no sense, and just poss the person who is arguing with them off. Do not try to argue with some one on ambien, you will never win.

Ambien lowers inhibitions much like alcohol. That med should be taken right before getting into bed to sleep. If you guys hang out and talk, read or watch TV in the bed your chances of her being rude are good. Don't speak to her and steer clear until she is sleeping and don't wake her up.

It has an onset of action of 20 minutes after which some people get weird and loopy if conditions are not conducive to sleep. People complain of unremembered food binges.

Summarily the label reads "at bedtime" which means right before getting into bed in conditions conducive to sleep.;)

Let me elaborate. Basic emotions like rage or anger or intimacy or happiness can be felt.

Your brain can only remember 10 seconds of the recent past, and can only predict 5 seconds of the future.

Every other part of the brain has been switched off, including memory. Your arguer will have zero recollection over what was said, how it escalated, maybe even not know what it was about.

Who COMPLAINS about unremembered food binges, im like FOOOOOOOOD.

I often get two giant burritos. Take the pilll, eat the first giant burrito. By the time I get to burrito 2 im already mentally gone, and then after I've eaten burrito 2 I start looking for burrito 1 again because my short term memory is shut off. Yeah I know, it's weird. Currently impeding my dark souls progress.

Thanks Keenly

Even though she is on ambien, I think what she says comes from her heart and is true. Do you agree or disagree Keenly? Just like all jokes have elements of truth to it.

Ironic to have this thread started today...

I had dinner with my sister this evening who is a neonatal nurse and my husband who is a physician. She mentioned it because she has worked graveyard for 25 years and has significant problems sleeping.

There have been recent significant reports that Ambien DOES effect women very differently, as is reported in this Forbes article.

I have always had trouble sleeping, even more so after that thing that happened to me, and am considering getting on some sort of medication.

Good to know what the side-effects could be.

Currently impeding my dark souls progress.

Hah, no wonder.

With every time you sitting at the bonfire, or dying resetting every enemy, how the heck are you going to make any progress when you keep forgetting? I can just imagine you dying to the same trap over and over and over because you just can't remember it.

Its not the not remembering that kills me on ambien the human eyes framerate slows from 32 to I'd guess about 22. My reaction times go way down.

Its very.. very possible that what she is saying are her true emotions. Infant say for sure though. I know I like to ramble on, like a sort of truth serum. Things I had told myself I wasn't going to mention to my roommate I describe with painstaking detail on it.

So its possible, although I just can't imagine being in the mood to argue on it.

Sounds fcvked up. How is this drug legal? Surely there are better options.

This was the first thing I have found, personally, that has worked for me. Insomnia is frustrating and maddening thing to have.

Eternal Sunshine

I have really bad insomnia and it works for me.

I never felt anything else than relaxad followed by can't keep my eyes open sleepy. This drug has done wonders for my next day energy level thanks to a good night's sleep. No food binges and no outbursts or any other weirdo side effects reported in the media. I took it while living with a guy and he never reported anything either.

So is this a drug in the u.s?

I wake up all the time and watch a comedy for 15mins to get me to drift off, but it's not the best.

I know you should stop all tvs etc an hour before sleep to allow your melatonin to kick in, but easier said than done.

My wife uses ambien way too much.

I have found that it enhances her current emotions.

If she is mad at me, then she will feel free to express the anger while using ambien. If she is feeling love towards me, then we will have good sex....except she falls asleep during it.

If she wants food, then she will get it and will be rebellious if I point out how it isn't good for her.

Consider ambien a truth drug.

This stuff was not good for me AT ALL. My ex found me wandering around all the time at night, one time I turned the stove on to cook something. I never remembered a thing.

I would send out super strange messages to people that must have made them think I was insane.

One time I thought spiders were crawling all over my walls, after that one I was over it lol.
