Another update on my situation.

Just wanted to update everyone on my situation, since you all were so helpful.

 

If you remember, I was getting ready to leave my BF. I made some last ditch efforts to salvage the relationship, but was generally prepared to pack my stuff and go. One night I get home from work at 2 a.m. and my BF comes to me & tells me not to go. He said that some of the things that I had said to him and the fact that I was leaving kind of struck a cord in him, basically. He said he's prepared to pick up the peices of his life.

 

So I bought it. I stayed against *everyone's* advice. Funny, there was only one person who told me to stay with him, who said, "if you love him, you'll stick it out". Now, the person who said that to me is not the kind of person I would usually take advice from, but when I heard it, I decided to make those last ditch efforts... and they worked, I guess. The past few days with my BF? It's been so weird. Surreal. Like I have my old boyfriend back, like he's the person I met before all this **** happened & he spiralled into depression. He's back to work (and actually pulling over-time!), happier, he wants to actually go out & do things, etc... I think it's wonderful, but at the same time I'm kind of dumbfounded, because I never believed that a change like this could happen so suddenly after living over a year with a zombie of a boyfriend. I guess sometimes you just need a kick in the ass...

Hi Spira, thanks for keeping us updated. Its nice to know how things are coming along. Yes, sometimes people need a kick in the a$$. Sometimes they rever to their old ways though- so look out for the signs and don't fool yourself.
