IhavenoFREAKINclue
I officially started my diet yesterday. I'm going to stick with my guns here and pull through it. I'm recently single and I am having the time of my life........SUMMER OF IHNFC! What are some of the things i should eat whilst on a diet. The only thing i can think of is salad with fat free dressing and eggs. I'm not on the no-carb diet, just a healthy one. Plus i bought Trimspa so I don't have to KILL myself with diet and exercise. So what kinds of foods would you recommend for a diet like this. Bagels? Hamburgers? etc......
LucreziaBorgia
I've very curious to hear if that Trimspa works for you - I'm in the market for something to boost my diet/exercise as well. Did it come with a diet plan to follow? I'd stick with things low in saturated fats - mustard instead of mayo, oil and vinegar on a sub instead of mayo - stuff like that, switch as many of your 'white' carbs to 'brown' ones - whole wheat bread instead of white, brown rice mix instead of white rice, sub in fruits and vegetables in for as many side dishes as you can, and watch the portion control. Don't eliminate anything, but if you eat something you know is high in fat/carbs/etc - just eat a little of it and add a big salad on the side so you'll still get what you like and you'll be more full as well. I found that every single diet I tried that worked by completely eliminating certain foods or food groups failed miserably. So, I eat what I like, just in different proportions. That works best for me, because I hate feeling deprived.
Pocky
I'm on a diet as well - I've gained seven pounds since August. I'm working out four times a week for 40 minutes each (twenty minutes aerobic and twenty minutes weight training). So every time I go for junk food I'll remember you're on a diet, too. Misery loves company.. Here's my list of food for the day: Dannon Carb Control Smoothie Low-Fat Cottage Cheese 3/4 Cup Cereal 2 oz. Dried Mango 1 can of Soup with 1 can of peas Here's some additional things you could eat (keep in mind I'm not a dietician): Vegetables Chicken Tuna Fish (or any fish) Low Fat Cereal Soup (watch the cream soups they're high in fat) Yogurt (watch the sugar and carbs - some are really high) Cottage Cheese

Go to the website http://www.trimspa.com and read the testimonials. They hearby swear by it! Ok so for lunch today I'm going to have pastrami on rye with mustard and chicken parm (homemade for dinner). A little cheese is ok Pocky.......Those foods sound good. Cottage cheese is not my cup of tea tho. But the rest seem easy to handle. Last night i did have fries from mickey D's. But it wasn't the whole meal........just fries. It's like trying to quit smoking!!!!
Author IhavenoFREAKINclue
What about my exerceise routine.....Do i have to kill myself? or a light walk will do me good?
tiki
Freakin, fatty foods are an addiction just like anything else. You have to program your bod to want healthy foods. Start out with veggies and some ranch dressing. I say NO hamburgers or bagels! And go rent super size me.
Merin
Hmm.. IMO, (and this is just me) but all things in moderation, and excersize.. good to go:)
blind_otter
I lost like 10 lbs. Of course this was from a coke binge so there you go. For me when I stop drinking soda and eating bread, pasta and desserts I lose weight so fast. I love meat, though. I like shish kabobs a lot. Grilled chicken. Grilled veggies. Rice. lotsa rice, I eat it with every meal. I like blackened tuna steaks with various salads. I love love love broccoli salad with walnuts and raisins. Oh and waldorf salad but I think the mayo has too much fat, eh. but today I had a big fat sausage mcmuffin and a coke for breakfast so obviously i am not a diet person. _Saffy_
im on the weight watchers diet........do you get weight watchers in the US? basically you have a points allowance that is worked out depending on ya weight, and everything you could possibly eat has a points value........if you want chocolate/icecream.....whatever....you can have it. merin was right, everything in moderation combined with exercise. this is a great example.......i took the little ones to mcdonalds and had a mcchicken sandwich with diet coke.....for 6.5 points. for exercise, you can either gain bonus points for a treat or just do the exercise and forget the bonus points and lose quicker i lost 9lb in january. Sukotto
wow you get more points than my ex. She was only allowed 18 and i use to hear about it ALL the time, actually I ended up on the weight watchers diet because it was too cruel for me to stuff my face and her eating her chicken salad with no dressing. Glad she's gone since I hated the whole diet thing.
tiki
God, when we get together with my sister, she's always like, "Um, that's three points" (or some sh*t). I'm always like, "I don't give a f*ck how many points it is" ...then shove it in my mouth.

moimeme
Read through some calorie charts and avoid the stuff that gives you the highest calories per gram; so ice cream is for sure a no. Fried foods are a close second to quit. Don't eat unless you are hungry. Be sure to get whole grains, fruit, and veg as well as protein and a bit of fat every day. Have lots of water. And don't eat until you are full or stuffed. Eat until you've stopped being hungry. There can be a whole burger between being 'not hungry' and being 'full'. Don't avoid sweets or other goodies; just have a bit. It takes me three days to eat an Aero bar; I have two pieces a day. I'll eat one half a Twix or one KitKat piece and that'll be it. Eat a little bit of stuff you like but take time to savour it. And for sure exercise. I walk a minimum of 40 minutes 5 days a week. I took almost 20 lbs off a year and a half ago and it's not going to come back. Do a lot of walking. Walk to the corner store for your errands. Get off the bus sooner and walk. Or park at the far end of the parking lot so long as it's safe. In fact, I just heard on a show last night that if you walk a couple flights of stairs a day, you can drop 10 lbs in a year. So if you walk a few flights per day, you really burn calories.
