Birds of a feather flock together, is this true in many cases?

Was reading this story and I'm not sure if it might be a troll trying to get attention or real. The girl in the story seems very trashy and shallow but the guy she encountered at a club is equally trashy too (as described in the article, with a bad attitude and arrogance). I guess they both deserve each other since neither one of them is a quality partner.

Singapore Seen | Confession: A guy threw his drink in my face at a club -- and now he's my BF

If I were to hypothetically speaking throw a drink in some guy's face, this means I would really have to really hate him in that moment (I have never done this and I can't think of any reason other than maybe a total creep that's putting his hands on me and I really feel threatened). This would mean I would want nothing to do with him. Then off course if he then goes throwing it back at me, I wouldn't want anything to do with him at that point either, not much become his gf.

That story makes me cringe. I think it should be made more clear in your initial post that she actually threw a drink in his face first, because he wouldn't buy her one!

I mean, seriously? I never accept drinks from men in clubs unless I'm single and open to talking/flirting further and am attracted to them. Even then, it's a gift, somebody spending their own money on something for my pleasure/consumption, and never to be taken for granted. I dated a man for four years who I think only once bought me a hot chocolate, and he brought that up for a month afterwards!

She deserved a drink thrown in her face for being the one to do it first, and all because she somehow felt entitled to his money. Her arrogance would be the biggest turn off imaginable, but perhaps it really turned this guy on, and made her seem like a challenge, when I doubt few other girls would do what she did.

And she explains clearly herself the reasons why him throwing a drink back in her face piqued her interest in him too, it seems like the classic playing hard to get thing that is working for him. Personally I can't imagine that two people classy enough to throw drinks at each other in night clubs could be better suited.

Um, this is STOMP - it's all about juicy gossip (which usually translates to terrible human behaviour)! There have been worse (more facepalm-ish) articles...

Here are a few other funny ones:
