BarryJohnny
Hey everyone, my name is John. I hope this is the right place to introduce myself. If not, feel free to move this post. So I signed up because my wife and I are currently planning the sweet sixteen party for our son Luca and have some issues with that. I heard about this forum from a friend and hope to find some like-minded people. Best, John

amaysngrace
Hi John. I have a sixteen year old son but we don't do sweet sixteen parties for boys here in the USA. For girls we rent a place and have tiny little food and a DJ and sometimes a meal. The kids get dressed up and dance. It's like a big social. Is he your only child?

Oh really... no sweet sixteen for boys? that's a shame... but acutally, it would save me a lot of money but I guess that's how it is. My boy seems obsessed with his big birthday party, wants a band playing and all...

Author BarryJohnny
I hope I'm not getting you wrong... the guests will hopefully be dancing, yes. But I did not want to hire any. I mean, he is still only

The kids are 13 years old and the dancers are late teens, early twenties. No different than the dancers for professional sports teams and the kids really loved having them there. Got pictures with them and everything. Maybe your son would love for them to be there!

Author BarryJohnny
Regarding the location I now found a company that provides event-tents (those guys) - have you ever heard of renting a tent for a private event? Is that even possible? I think the solutions look actually pretty nice, but do you think it will just be too much? I'm not sure...
