Had enough of girlfriend... how to end it cordially

Recommended Posts

Well then I can be having sex with someone, not say anything or do anything, but internally decide that I don't want to do it anymore and that I'm being raped, and call it sexual assault.

I think the burden is higher, and even victims have some responsibility to be very clear about their wishes in the situation.

Technically yes, you can.

And as for victims being clear... well.. I'll just leave that one alone.

Yea, like WTF? Did you get the chance to make yourself clear?

No.

Potentially yes, but,you know, shock/fear and all that jazz?

Anyway, this thread isn't about me. And it's not really the place to argue about the semantics of sexual assault.

I think now we're here to help Lumo through a breakup.. If he turns up again and we haven't ruined his thread!

Oh yea, that's right. Stay strong, Lumo. Hope she decides to give that set of car keys back!

I think outweighing someone by 100 pounds and being a foot or so taller than them probably does make a difference in how hand to hand combat would be interpreted in this case. She didn't hit him. She straddled him, and he didn't want to push her off, for fear it might hurt HER.

I think if there is no perceived threat (very important), and you just stand there and don't do anything when you "easily" (his word) can, you have a hard case to make.

Do I have to repeat everything that I said in previous posts, to keep people from cherry picking something from a subsequent post and acting as though the previous posts didn't exist?

You mention fear. If you notice above, I mention perceived threat. Size can also have something to do with threat (why outweighing by 100 pounds might mean something), the relationship, presence of a weapon, consequence, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. Notice I also mentioned being sober in another post. I could also say "being awake." There are many things that can impact an event such that one would have to look at each situation individually.
