Are "night terrors" warnings from God?

I think that Bible passage can't be taken literally but definitely it's not impossible either.

I've been having panic attacks but that is due to something else that triggered it. The reason why I am very sure of it is cos I have already asked for forgiveness and I have not sinned since.

So I guess it depends on individual. If you're having night terrors and you know you've not confessed, then confessed and ask for forgiveness. If you know is something else then just pray to God for peace when you sleep.

Exactly. Sometimes God CAN use these things, but that doesn't mean that every time it happens that is what God is doing.

One of my favorite verses is Psalm 4:8 - "I will both lay down in peace and sleep, for You, O Lord, make me to dwell in safety."

My grandmom had a dream that "the baby was all wet" and it woke her. She immediately called my Aunt Ree to check my little cousin's diaper because my aunt wasn't the best mom.

The following morning we found out that my brother had drowned while serving in the Navy.

I also had a calming dream that followed a solid week of flashbacks from being molested and raped. I didn't flashback at all during that dream but instead heard a voice say that "healing comes when you seek understanding".

I did a lot of hard work to heal from my past and that calming dream was the final dream after a week of utter hell from remembering all the events I had blocked out for years.

Being the believer that I am I know that our Lord, Jesus Christ, suffered like no other. I don't know what that voice was or who that voice was but it was very much welcomed.

I haven't had a flashback since.

So how should we interpret a passage about dreams (such as one in my OP) if they aren't to be taken literally? When the Bible says dreams can be warnings from God, I don't think this is a topic that falls on the literal/figurative spectrum. They either ARE warnings or they AREN'T. (Or they can be or can't be, etc.)
