IME, I've found each woman to be different. Some were 'wow' with long hair, some with short, some with medium (shoulder blade, etc). My exW, working with hair for a living, was always experimenting and, personally, I found her more attractive and sexy with medium length hair, as seen in this sample, a lady she closely resembled.

Look for a celeb with a similar face shape and hair to yours and look for different length styles. It doesn't have to be buzz cut. Could be short like Pamela Anderson's new crop or chin length bob or shoulder length. You could cut it to just past your shoulders so you could wear up or down for variety. Find a good hairdresser at an upscale salon. If you can't afford the prices, get the initial consulation and cut there, then have another cheaper hairdresser duplicate the cut later.

Men always say they like long hair but on more than one makeover on TV, when the women got great cut and color, the men were thrilled. If you look better, that is all that matters to them.

It looks nice but its a pain in the ass...Instead of watching the football games on Sunday, you are taking apart the plumbing and pulling out mats of gross, smelly, semi decomposed foot long hairballs....

YMMV:laugh:

How about cutting it just past your shoulders? You can always grow it back - but once it gets a bit too long - it's a lot more trouble.

I'm 53 years old - I love my bouncy curly mid back length hair! I let it do what it's going to do - it's wild and fun!

Depends on the face. Some women are very hot even with a buzz cut.....or whatever.

Some women are hot with long(er) hair, but.........that's it.

I am not into girls with short hair imo, but down to the butt seems like too much. I recommend a haircut but don't cut it so short you can't tie it all up in a ponytail.

But that is just my opinion, lesbian jokes aside, I think girls with short hair do not look feminine.

There are men out there who find short hair attractive.

It all comes down to what suits your face.

Take Halle Berry for instance - cropped hair suits her so well and I don't see any men kicking her out of bed for it!

I've noticed that the guys who have a huge thing for very long hair, generally start re-thinking their obsession with it when they live with someone who has it (and wait for her to blow-dry her hair... and yes, the plumbing ).

I suppose very short could also be an issue for some, but I don't see most men finding a huge difference between shoulder-length hair and butt-length hair. So yeah, you don't have to do a Halle Berry cut, but cutting it just below the shoulder or at mid-back could help a lot with the convenience aspect while still looking nice.

Yup. I have hair halfway down my back, so it is quite a mane to handle, but blessedly, because it's very straight and silky, I've never had an issue with clogging up a drain or shedding too much.

It DOES however, get in the way all too often. Blowing wildly in the wind and blinding me, getting stuck in the car door or rolled up in the automatic window, stuck under my own arms while laying down, my cat thinks it's her favorite chewtoy at night.

and just the slightest bit of static electricity has my hair standing on end. I can't get too close to a balloon without looking like I just got shocked.

Firstly, I would say some words in appreciation of your beautiful hairs that long and beautiful hair is god's gift and you are very lucky that god has given such a beautiful gift to you..I would also like to advice you for not shortening your hair's length, you should give time for it's maintenance by proper braiding and oiling a good braid oil can help you to maintain the length of your hairs or you can do it by some other remedies you may know.

I think most guys like long hair. Doesn't have to be that long, but you can cut it to mid-back length.

Mine is long. Not to my waist, but well past my mid-back. I am blond and very straight hair. I am thinking about cutting it to shoulder length.

And don't forget that your own showertime activities will be contributing to those unlovely gatherings. Hair collects everything, and it doesn't like to let go.

I have verrrrry short hair and have had since I was 16, since I moved to a tropical climate I've even started getting it buzzcut, and I don't have any difficulties getting dates. I'm seldom mistaken for a lesbian either (not that I would mind if I was). A couple of my exes have had a preference for short haired or "alternative" girls.

It's kind of a handy filter, since I NEVER get approached by men who have this idea of how women "should" be. I usually get asked out by guys who are my type, so I guess I have the right haircut for me!

I'm 49 and I have long (mid-back) wavy (frizzy in the rain ) auburn hair (think Julia Roberts) and I've always been told that it's my 'crowning glory'. The colour needs a bit of help these days but as long as it's in good condition I love having long hair and I still get compliments on a regular basis.

Every man I've had a relationship with (and others) have told me I should never cut it short. That said, I did cut it very short in my mid-30s for practical reasons. It was sooo easy! Interestingly enough, I can't say it had any negative effect on the attention I got from men.

Even so, I grew it long again asap. My fiancé would probably rescind his proposal if I cut it short now - even though it costs us a fortune in drain unblocker and the vacuum cleaner head is always getting knotted up. :D

So I would say 'yes', in my experience, most men love long hair but mostly they just like hair that's shiny and well looked after. If you want to cut your hair, go 'halfway' to start with and see what sort of response you get. If he likes it, cut some more off - if he doesn't, grow it back. :)

thank you all for your advice,i wish I could sport short hair like halle berry, but I don't think I would look good in very short hair,my daughters friend is coming to my house on thurdsday, and I will be cutting about 5-6 inches off, baby steps here.

I hate going to salons,i hate the smell, and hate all the gossiping, and I usually always have to come home, and wet my hair down, cause they seem to like blow drying it,and that just makes me look like a lion,it gets super fluffy,I prefer it straight,i know I could say something, but they seem to enjoy working on this hair

Why not cut enough off to donate it to locks of love(dot org)?

I believe the length needs to be 10 inches and tied into a pony tail or braid.

It grows back. Why not help children in need since you have plenty of hair and it goes to good use?

I haven't done it - as my hair grows very slow - but I do know people who do it consistently by cutting - growing- cutting- growing.

The site offers info and guidelines. It could be fun!

I've had a pixie cut since last September and no man has turned me down because of my hair.

I actually get a lot of comments from guys telling me how hot I look with short hair. Especially those that knew me with longer hair (never had it longer than a chin length bob).

Depends on your face shape - start slowly with cutting your hair shorter, and don't go too drastic too soon. I love the suggestion about donating your hair.

I love Jennifer Lawrence's hair right now.

I've always been jealous of women who can pull off short hair. I'm not one of them. My bone structure is too harsh.

If a woman has a pretty face and good body, she can wear her hair in any style and men will like it. With a plain or unattractive face, long hair is a good distraction. Sarah Jessica Parker is a prime example. A plain or ugly face with short hair is a no-no.

I have a friend nearly 60 who has hair down to her waist. It is fried blonde, split ends, messy. She looks like a walking haystack or a witch.

Long hair on women as they get older makes me think they're trying to reclaim their youth, imo. I really dig short hair on the ladies.

Regardless, OP, it's YOUR HAIR. Do what YOU want with it.

Is she seeing anyone at the moment?
