GemmaUK
I have long curly hair, a mixture of ringlets, loose corkscrews and waves. Pulled straight it's waist length but if sits around bra strap level on the longest layer. I always had short hair as a child and only started to grow it when I was in my twenties. It's much easier to look after now that it's much longer. I've switched from using shampoo and I conditioner wash it (the best thing for curls), stick some leave in conditioner and a little curl creme on it scrunch some of the water out and I'm ready to go. It much easier not having to really style it at all and I never use a dryer, straighteners or any heat at all it. I also never use a comb nor a brush on it, I just my fingers to loosen any tangles up when it's drenched in conditioner. It gets a lot of compliments too on the condition, the curls and on the scent as everything I use is coconut scented. I do get questions as to where I got my hair extensions as they want to get some like mine (I don't own any hair extensions) and where I get it permed as they want curls like mine (I don't get it permed, it's natural). These can be quite amusing conversations sometimes! I've had no complaints from men (mostly all they have said is don't cut it) but I'm not really fussed what a man thinks. I'm turned 45 this year but don't intend to cut my hair off due to my age and have to do lots more to it to style it, though I will probably give in and dye it when I start to go grey! thefooloftheyear
O/T...I know but I didnt want to start a new thread about it.. Can someone please explain to me why women(and not only kids, but older women), have this sudden fascination with dying their hair bright orange, magenta, pink, etc.... Just one mans opinion, but it looks hideous... TFY
Taramere
O/T...I know but I didnt want to start a new thread about it.. Can someone please explain to me why women(and not only kids, but older women), have this sudden fascination with dying their hair bright orange, magenta, pink, etc.... It was high fashion a couple of years ago, and now it's obviously filtered down to the mainstream. I've seen a lot of whacky colours on the hair colours shelf in Boots, and even quite a few in the supermarket. My hairdresser has an entire page of bizarrely coloured samples in his book - so I suppose the availability of these colours is resulting in more people experimenting with them. Why they do it...copying celebrities, albeit a couple of years later, and possibly wanting to be seen as daring. Also, maybe they get influenced by other people trying to convince them that it'll look great. A hairdresser once desperately wanted to chop my hair to jaw length and dye it pink with black streaks through it. I didn't let him, and he was really quite scornful about how conservative I was being. Maybe some of the time you see women with crazy colours, they've been persuaded into it by a hairdresser who wants to go wild.

Toddbt12y1
I love exotic looks. I love it when a woman goes through the effort to make her hair look different. To color it or put it however they like. Normal, as they say, is boring. Bring on the purple, blues, and pinks, imo. Oh. And as of the topic: I love long hair on a woman. It is such a defining feature, much like the eyes. Although, it does depend on facial features....

I should hope my femininity has more to do with how much cellular waste is growing from my scalp. When I had short hair for many years I was constantly complimented on how feminine it made me look. It showcased my very delicate nose, large eyes, and straight white teeth (). Plus, if you look like a dude, no amount of hair will change that. If you look very feminine you can shave your head and still be hot.

Wasn't ignoring that. I was addressing your thought that hair had anything to do with femininity. It's not about attention either. It's about expression. Hair grows back. (Btw DarkMoon, have you tried supplements for your hair?)

(Btw DarkMoon, have you tried supplements for your hair?) supplements, sure, but they do not overtake time itself, oldies' hair slows down regardless, tie it back to keep it clean as washing caused/causes more hair loss, my friend had this happen, we are oldies, but you sound still as pretty as a picture, bye Edited June 24, 2014 by darkmoon
regine_phalange
I should hope my femininity has more to do with how much cellular waste is growing from my scalp. . You phrased this in a hilarious way . Until my late teens, I personally only looked at men who had a lot of cellular waste growing from their scalp. And I didn't think it made them feminine at all. It's the same about less cellular waste on women. * I noticed a lot of new hair growth after my iron magically became very good. So, if you want to assist new hair growth maybe this is the way to go. Eat iron rich foods..
