pink_sugar
So I planned on having a birthday gathering with just a few friends to keep things low key and less dramatic. Well, my relatives found out and are inviting themselves to join even though I said I'm keeping the friends and family celebrations separate due to issues in the past. It's really irritating that they take it personally.
mercuryshadow
Have you reiterated your wishes to them? You don't need to offer an explanation, just simply that those are your wishes. Have you planned a separate gathering for family? If not, perhaps doing so will satiate them.
Tayla
Do as you originally planned. Change where the location will be. Uninvited guest need to refrain from including themselves. Unsure though if excluding family is a way to shun them or keep them away whilst you have some "me" time. Its okay to do so, but if close to any of the family you may want to share with them you alternate plans.
MuscleCarFan
Pink_sugar reiterated to her mom *that we live with at the moment) that she wanted to due a friends only thing and family separate. Her mom said we don't have to entertain them, but still... >_> I guess it boils down to Pink's grandma not wanting to have a bunch of people at her apartment. Too much anxiety for her.
