husband finds my BFF more attractive.

Recommended Posts

Been married 5 months and it was arranged. Now, my husband is a real nice guy. And he says he loves me pretty often. Only he told me today that when his parents showed hom my picture before we got married which was one where I am with my BFF he though she's the one his parents are talking about and was very happy. He hasn't actually said he is unhappy that it isn't her but I get the drift. He also always shows a lot of interest whenever she is mentioned and once also said she is prettier than I am. I try not to let it bother me as I know she is very attractive but still end up feeling hurt. Am I being stupid?

I guess the bottom line is: You are in an arranged marriage. What recourse do you have regardless of your husband's wants and desires - or your wants and desires?

From my understanding, all you have control over is you, your emotions, and your emotional well-being. Whether or not he finds someone else attractive is moot, is it not?

You're not stupid to feel how you feel. Granted you did not have a say in who you picked as a life long partner, you do however have complete control and say over how how you feel.

You should talk to him about this. If you say he is a really nice guy, then express that it hurts your feelings. It doesn't help you to fester with these negative feelings because it's only going to affect your relationship down the road.
