MindyJJ
If your partner finds out you cheated, is it better to simply go NC (even though it's not their fault at all but you just can't face visiting them, looking at their eyes and their pain and having to explain everything) and have nothing to do with them? In other words walk away out of their life with no explanation at all.... or is this too harsh and he/she still needs an explanation? I think still they won't even reason with any given explanation so I guess there would be no point. No explanation would explain anything at all so in a way isn't just disappearing into thin air the better option??? Edited June 6, 2014 by MindyJJ
MrMeh
Leaving without reason doesn't solve anything. The other person could possibly wonder if they faulted a point, leaving them to feel dumbfounded in future relationships. If a person has any respect left for their partner, they'll tell them the harsh truth, regardless of how bad they might feel.

Well I've heard a few posts on this section just now and I just thought that no one wants to hear from the cheater and that anything that comes out out their mouth is an excuse. That's why I was thinking walking away is better. At the same time, the cheater is too ashamed of their actions too. But ok, good point.
Joaquin
I would rather she just gave me the "it's not you its me" line and moved on. I wouldn't want to hear she had cheated. Ignorance would be bliss if the end result was that we were going to split, which would happen if she's been having sex with other men.
Spectre
No they deserve an explanation for the shady actions you have done to them.
drifter777
Yeah, they deserve an explanation and the truth but all it will do is hurt them more. Rather than disappear, just tell them it isn't working for you and your sorry but it's over. But save them the pain and shame of knowing their SO cheated on them.
Poptree
I think it would be best to explain to the best of your ability and apologize but after that just leave them be.
