I've fallen for my best friend :/

Recommended Posts

Hey, so I have a friend that I starting seeing more and more of a couple of months ago and this led to us becoming extremely close friends and to the point where I would call him my "best friend" as he had been there for me when I lot hadn't! Then we starting kissing, acting like a couple, staying over at each other's house and sleeping with each other.

I've fallen for him now and I know that he doesn't feel the same way because I'm pretty sure he would have told me as we tell each other all sorts, and he is really open with girls he has liked in the past but not me clearly lol. My question is, what should I do? I wish I could just cut all ties but we've booked to go traveling together for a month in the summer, which is now all paid for. I really don't want to make things awkward between us by telling him how I feel if he doesn't feel the same way. Has anyone been in this situation before and how on earth do I sort out this sticky situation I've found myself in?

yeah never travelled with just a male friend and booked holidays, only partners...maybe he is shy maybe you should just see where things go and enjoy time with a person that you love if you get your heart broken well.....what if you never find out that it wont be broken at all and he is so much more than just your bestest bud..........have a song for you......

maybe he hums this song when you arent there with him...you never know

Try not to worry about what he's feeling yet. This may be a confusing transition for him, but clearly he wants to keep seeing you or you wouldn't be doing this trip. So relax and try to enjoy it and don't demand to know his feelings yet. Maybe he's being careful not to "overstate" anything with you because he does care about you so much as a friend as well. Maybe he's being careful and making sure what his feelings are before saying anything.

Time will tell, I guess. Meanwhile, I guess if he keeps dating other women, you'll know he's at least not ready to commit to anyone. This may be a big deal to him. His actions should show that better than his words. If he's careless about you finding out he's dating someone else or if he starts taking you for granted, cancelling dates, doing unscheduled booty calls, then you can kind of assume he's not serious. But if he is treating you with respect and consideration, don't start doubting his feelings for you because that is really how you tell, not their words or explanations.
