I have a female at my work that's always asking me for help, touching me on my hands, shoulder, arm, playing with her hair when I talk to her, touching her lips when she talks to me, flirting. We had an appointment together for something work related a few days ago and she showed up with her hair all done, and yet again asked for more help (one on one sit down) next week. We even went for lunch together (her asking) last week but she spoke about her boyfriend - so who knows. I just enjoy the eye candy because she is absolutely gorgeous (and also about 8 years younger).

I've responded to people from other companies regarding supplies in less than a minute. I'm not lining up to date any of them. This whole thread is a monument to lame office interactions. I've asked women out after flirting less than 5 minutes. Is this supposed to be going anywhere, because it just seems like this is going to turn into Fatal Attraction at some point. 7

I decided to bake a cake this morning and sent an email letting the rest of the office know, including him. I knew he was busy so i didn't expect a reply. Later this morning, I was in a meeting with his direct subordinate, who's above me and at the same level as my boss. I said I'd like to be in a meeting she was having with him *in the afternoon, but didn't know if he would let me. She said "Oh, you should be in that meeting! Don't worry, I'll handle it" ( Her name is Jane.) I also said i was scared of him, playfully, because i knew it would get back to him and he would know he needs to be more active in pursuing me... Later, she told me it was taken care of, I asked "What did he say?" She said "I told him that he needs to be nicer to you, he said 'Just bc I'm not warm and fuzzy??'", LOL! I was satisfied. Then, I'm sitting in my office, and he walks in!!! This was the conversation: Him:"So, what kind of cake?" I smile and say: Me:"Is this you being nicer to me like Jane told you?!" He seemed speechless, smiled and started to walk away. I said: Me:"No, come back, I'll tell you! It was coffee cake with maple glaze..." Him:"So you just woke up this morning and felt like baking?" (He was smiling... There was something in his eyes I can't quite describe.) Me:"Well, I woke up at 4:15 and usually I read from 5:00 to 6:00 every morning... So I decided to bake from 4:30 to 5:00... I used to bake for my boyfriend but that's not happening anymore." His face changes. Him:"So I'm that scary, huh?" Me:" You are! I'm always scared to walk into your office, I always knock softly" He smiles a lot, shakes his head and starts to walk away, saying my name. Me:"Why, is that bad??" Him:"No, I just have to find my softer side... I don't know where it is, but I'll find it." Is this good?? I mentioned my boyfriend, really an ex, to see his reaction. He changed the subject. Is that good or bad?? I think he's such a senior person, that coming to my office to say these things was a good sign... Am I being too hopeful??

Well he certainly knows you have a crush on him, Jane is aware of it too. I'd say. There's no question of that. 'Him:"So you just woke up this morning and felt like baking?" (He was smiling... There was something in his eyes I can't quite describe.)' I suspect that could have been a hint of sadness in his eyes possibly or perhaps even a wide eyed look but his eyebrows will probably have raised up when he asked the question.

Good that you offered the cake to the entire office even if you may have baked it with him in mind! Changing the subject suggests possible discomfort. Which might make sense if he was interested in you! Nothing still suggests to me that he is not intrigued by you.

So we've been going back and forth about a work thing and even though my first email didn't really require a reply, he replied anyway, and wrote more than usual. So I wrote something back, not expecting a reply either. He replied again, now telling me not to do something and saying we should talk on Monday (this was Saturday morning). I replied "Ok, you're the boss. " I was just being cute, because we had been teasing him about how he scares me and he said he would try to find his softer side for me... Then he wrote back "Nope... Just playing the role." Oh my God!! He's been flirtatious in person, but never in emails! He's totally engaging me now. That remark had a very sexual connotation - and so did mine, which was planned. He's a very take-charge kind of guy and that's a huge turn-on. He was right there with me! Now I have to go pick out my clothes for tomorrow...

Maybe when you're in a social setting ask him some general questions about his life, before you decide whether he's the one for you and ask him on a date. Don't have any fear, I still have a major crush on a man I work with. I asked him out and he politely turned me down (don't know the reason), we're still friendly and send each other emails and I'm still positive and hopeful I'll eventually get one date just to see how things go. So pace yourself and if he says no, don't be bitter and just carry on communicating with him like you normally would.

That's what he was alluding to!), I replied by telling him that I was glad Mussolini was gone and he wasn't scolding me - that Mussolini was the nickname I had for him (he's Italian) in my head and now I'd have to come up with a new one. So on Sunday morning he writes me back and makes a joke... On Monday we're talking in my office and he brings it up again, so it's our little joke now. But today was the best day... He chose me over another girl trying to talk to him at the same time and chased me down the hall as I walked away, leaving the girl talking to herself... He brought up my second nickname for him, saying he didn't like it, joking about it, we had a very good conversation about Italian history, old and new, including their politics. I felt good showing him that I'm not just a pretty girl. Then he asked me about sports and one of my teams who were playing... The point is that he kept trying to keep me in there, until his phone rang... I said we should continue talking about it later, he agreed... There were many other interactions. But today I sent out an email saying that I wanted to try new recipes and would love to cook everyone lunch next Monday and those who wanted to participate should reply so that I could know how much to make. Now, he's a senior executive and he NEVER eats*lunch with us. ( But he's in the same area so it was ok to include him.) He was the first to reply!! Literally, two minutes. I was so happy... And I'm a great cook, so *he's going to get to know another talent.. One at a time!

So I agreed that maybe I shouldn't call him that anymore! Btw, I won't revisit the separated/married issue. I don't think separated is the same as married. That's all there is to it.

That's no longer my question, I don't need anyone's opinion on that - I'm the one watching him (and being watched) every day. His attraction was never in question (of course it's there), it was his willingness to take it to the next level. He's been escalating things every day. Sometimes I think this forum is the most negative place I've ever visited... But I won't let one or two bad apples spoil the bunch.
