is anybody taking Supplement/Vitamins?

Recommended Posts

I am taking

1 capsule of Evening Primrose Oil‎ a day

2 capsules of Omega 3/DHA fish oil a day

1 capsule of Acidophilus and Bifidobacteria a day

have you ever tried them? and how long do I have to wait until I can see some results?

I am finding the Omega 3 a bit hard to digest cause I can taste fish in my mouth sometimes... is this normal?

I am taking the Primorose oil for my skin and the probiotics to help my immune system.

I take vitamin d3 with K2. It gives you the sunshine when there is none.

I think it takes at least 14 days to tell the difference.

I take vegan prenatal vitamins, vegan DHA, iron, magnesium, and calcium (generally in the form of an antacid).

Yes, it's normal. If I take anything with fish oil in it, I burp fish all day.

Some people recommend freezing the capsules before taking them. It's supposed to make it easier to digest. It never worked for me, but it's wroth a try.

What I do is take it at night right before bed.

Or, you can take the vegetarian/vegan DHA capsules which give you no problem at all!!

I'm vegan and I take:

- B-12 maybe twice/week. I also use fortified plant milks so I get it there too. B-12 levels test fine.

- D. Doctor says nearly everyone she tests is low.

- Calcium a few times per week.

- Iron a few times per week because I have always run a bit low.

- Every once in awhile I'll read about some supplement like turmeric or CoQ-10 and buy a bottle, but I don't do that regularly.

I also have a multi vitamin but I don't take it regularly, just when I think of it. Every once in awhile I'll start taking it again and keep it up for a couple weeks, but then drop back to the single nutrients above.

I'll also take relatively high levels of vitamin C if I get sick.

Fish oil is only good for you if you're limiting your omega-6 intake... if you're taking fish oils and you're not eating healthy (i.e. eating foods with a lot of omega - 6) it will actually make you more unhealthy because your body is being flooded with unsaturated fats...

Fish-oil supplements may do more harm than good, UBC researcher finds

Also, Cod Liver Oil is a better alternative than fish oil... It has omega-3 as well as vitamin D and vitamin A...

If you're trying to improve your acne, vitamin A (the preformed vitamin A which is found only in meats (liver, eggs...)) is really really good because it helps regulate your body's sebum secretion. Just make sure you're getting enough vitamin D and k2 (or sunlight) as well.

My favourite "suppliment" is adding a healthy portion of beans to my daily dietary intake.

They will control your blood sugar (controlling long term hunger satiety), have huge amounts of essential vitamins, boost your clean protein intake, and turn your digestive system into a well oiled machine.

The initial first few days of adjusting to the intake of beans will produce gas in your system, but once your body purges the junk from your digestive system that the beans extract then you will equalize and experience no additional gas.

I've been taking vitamins A and E for some time now, and just recently started taking vitamin D3, all for my skin.
