Grumpybutfun
This is good for learning what you are supposed to be doing. Hatha Yoga Illustrated 9780736062039, Paperback, BRAND NEW FREE P&H 0736062033 | eBay I went a wee bit far and risked too much of a stretch recently when I had RSI and some dodgy trigger points. Stretches, even yoga ones can do more harm than good sometimes. I am out of yoga action and just doing intu-flow for a while. I'll be back to the yoga soon though. ETA: Dichotomy, You want flexibility in your back? Look up Intu-Flow by Scott Sonnen the martial arts expert. We do some of this for MMA training...didn't know what it was called. Intu-flow...hmmmm. I think they call it Warrior Wellness or maybe they just did that because it is training for fighting, Idk. Guess I'm fairly flexible then, just some yoga poses aren't for me. My wife's yoga is way harder than Warrior Wellness.....it is brutal. She is pretty advanced though. I think she may secretly be Elasti-girl. G
GemmaUK
Intu-flow is helping me massivley and I am doing some trigger point therapy too.. But I did have a bad RSI attack..only found intu-flow since it happened to be honest..three weeks ago. It'sa bit of a shock what I can't quite do with Intu. Yoga is only for hardcore Grumps! It is much more relaxing an meditative to watch than it is to do! So I get a sense you have to work out to keep up with her? ^cough^
Author Robert Z
I had another interesting experience. My sb and I were hanging out and I decided to show her the chi exercise we did in yoga. So we got into comfortable positions and I showed her what to do. Before long I could see that she was "feeling the force" and working it. Then I did the same. Within moments I started feeling all swimmy and euphoric. But my sb has this affect on me so I wasn't sure, but this seemed to be related to the chi exercise. Then she stopped and said "I felt it!". But as she started to say something else I could tell that she was feeling what I was feeling - her voice got a little weak, began to waver, and she sounded a bit drunk. I told her I suddenly felt euphoric and she acknowledged that she did as well. Within a minute or so, whatever was happening had us both feeling like we were floating. So we both just sank into the couch and enjoyed the ride.
regine_phalange
Oh, how nice! Do you remember the name of the exercise? Yoga is magic. Downward dog has anenergizing effect to me. I always feel like I just woke up after this particular position, and light as a feather.
Author Robert Z
I don't know the name of the exercise but it is purely meditative. When relaxed, just position both hands in front of your belly button with the palms facing each other and your fingers pointed upward. Keep your hands about 1 to 3 inches apart and slowly move your them closer together and farther apart without touching. Before long you should start to feel something. The instructor didn't tell us what to expect so I won't either. But you'll know it when you feel it.

Author Robert Z
Hey, I did that in the morning and felt a wave of warmth on my tummy. Wow! It gets better. Now try focusing on the palms of your hands and imagine that you have a giant sticky marshmallow stuck between your palms. Slowly work it as you move your hands closer together and then farther apart. He said it may help to make a slight rotary motion - as if you are working dough. Go slowly and take your time. You should soon feel the pulling and pushing between your palms. Some people thought it felt like taffy, others said it felt magnetic. A giant sticky marshmallow came to mind for me... that and somewhat like a magnetic force.
