boyfriends becoming distant

Recommended Posts

My boyfriend has been kinda of distant for a while now. He's short with me and when we do see each other he's abusive. I love him and I don't want to lose him, but I don't know what to do. I have tried to talk to him and I think it only pushed him away more.

Distant means there is always something going on however the key word you typed is abusive so please consider reevaluating the relationship for that key word alone .

For Christ sake, there are too many men out there to be pining away at this loser. Kick him to the curb.

I don't think this is fair to say. I admit I don't know the whole story, if the OP means this guy is physically abusing her yeah she needs to get rid of him. If not, it depends on what she means if we are talking emotional abuse. I'm not saying that type is any better, but there could be reasons he is distant that have nothing to do with the OP. Of course it could be he is losing interest in the relationship. It is hard to say without more details. If he is hitting her then this is an open and shut case of her needing to get out.

if he is being emotionally or physically abusive then she needs to leave, NEITHER is ok or excusable.

Yeah see problem here is some people have wildly varying versions of "abuse". She could view him being emotionally distant as a form of emotional abuse.
