todreaminblue Posted July 9, 2014 Share Posted July 9, 2014 there was this devout christian lady she used to beg for money to feed the poor she studied religion she had a high iq i want to read her story but i have forgotten the name of her..she was told to dance as therapy for her malady think it might have been migraine related she also i think came froma wealthy family but denied riches.......i think she might have been the first real recognised scholar of faith related education..it was a google highlight thing last month some time,so i am assuming the anniversary of her death or birth...if someone can help me i would really appreciate peace of mind so i can hunt her story down..thanks...deb 1 Link to post Share on other sites

Madam Guyon was wealthy and denied her riches. i am keeping her to research and ill get her auto.....interesting..she looks similar to this(the one i cant remember but have a mind image), same dated dress i think..pretty sure the lady i want is english descent so not the lady i am looking for very similar story...dont think she ever married....except that the lady i speak of begged for the poor and was more works orientated...i think it may be been a later century maybe seventeenth..thanks living water...hugs.....deb Link to post Share on other sites

The Autobiography of Madam Guyon is posted online and you can read it for free. I printed it out years ago and read it. Was quite the read. She was a beautiful woman and used to cover herself more than ordinary out of consideration for men so that she wouldn't be a temptress to them. Her parents married her off to a very wealthy older man who wasn't very nice to her but before he died he had fallen in love with her. However, he was verbally abusive to her for decades. Because he was verbally abusive to her, her personal maid felt that she could be abusive, too, and get by with it. But, Madam Guyon never responded in kind. She just prayed through everything. Author todreaminblue Posted July 9, 2014 Author Share Posted July 9, 2014 (edited) i am going through the canonized females at the moment i am sure it is early century christianity theresa( i meant to write there's a but wrote theresa instead....lol...another saint my brain is clocking them ...at a hundred thoughta minute.....ticking through them.....) common denominator with all the stories i have read so far is illness borne faith it seems...which makes it harder to find her...that of childhood illness that often continued due to i guess lack of medical intervention and early knowledge of god.....i am going nuts though...smilin still...:0)....i have to find her.....deb Edited July 9, 2014 by todreaminblue Link to post Share on other sites
